SNAP 2013: Get an edge with Analytical Ability
Total number of marks and total number of questions are equal. But the most striking part is that unlike other MBA entrance examinations SNAP 2013 gives more emphasis on Analytical and logical ability which constitutes one third part of the total questions. If an aspirant can focus on this section, he/she may be assured of getting a good score in written test.

Prof. S.K. Agarwal, expert on Verbal and Logical Ability, shares following quick tips for the benefit of prospective SNAP 2013 aspirants, with MBAUniverse.com to score more in Analytical and logical Ability.

Logical Reasoning plays a key role in SNAP 2013. Aspirants usually do not prefer preparing it the way they prepare the quant and Verbal. There is no doubt that the syllabus for this section is scattered and not defined yet one may organise the studies systematically by placing more focus on following topics.

Seating Arrangements; Matching puzzles; Constraint based arrangements; Blood Relations - family tree; Syllogism; Proposition based followed by either deductive or inductive argument; Assumptions; Statements; Sets; Binary logic; Venn Diagrams; Clocks and Calendars; team formation; Analogy.

Problems on Analytical and logical Ability are based on natural human logics, so they can be understood and solved fairly easily, if proper attention is paid to this section. It serves as an aid to facilitate your entry to the top B-schools since it improves your percentile with a little logical understanding of the reasoning based questions.

Unlike the questions in Verbal Ability, Quantitative and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning needs less efforts and the questions in this section can be solved by following logic and natural instincts. The only need is to practice more and more questions of similar type every day.

The vocabulary used in logical reasoning questions is different from the one used in Verbal Ability hence it is imperative that you must have the knowledge of the terminology used in this part, since the questions are formed on the topics based on the said terminology in SNAP 2013.

Although topics on Logical Reasoning cannot be restricted to above nor there is any limitation to what should and what shouldn’t appear in this section of SNAP 2013, captioned topics, if prepared well, will lead an aspirant to a well-placed position.

Important Tip
The cut off for higher ranked B-school in SNAP 2013 is usually 105 to 115 which are reasonably achievable. Candidates have just come out of CAT and before SNAP, IIFT entrance will have taken place on 24.11.2013, it will be a fairly good attempt to score high in SNAP. A higher focus on Analytical and logical Ability, having 60 questions, will give you an edge.

Warning
Please do not attempt doubtful and wrong answer option. SNAP 2013 also has one fourth negative marking and every credit in this test is important.
