As per the SPJIMR Admission Criteria, a candidate will be considered for SPJIMR Mumbai admission on the basis of his/her profile and CAT 2018 and XAT 2019 exam scores will be taken into account when the results are declared. Apart from the CAT and XAT exam scores, GMAT exam scores are also considered in SPJIMR admission criteria.

How to Apply for SPJIMR Admission 2019
Last date to apply for admission at SPJIMR, Mumbai is November 23, 2018. SPJIMR has introduced a single common online application form for all the PGDM programmes. The application fee is Rs.1500/-. Candidates seeking admission to various PGDM programme 2019-21 at SPJIMR Mumbai should appear in CAT 2018 or XAT 2019 or GMAT.

Step 1: Register
Before beginning to register, read the instructions to fill up the form. At the SPJIMR admission application window ‘Apply Now’, you should enter your Name, Email ID and other required details and register.

Login as existing user and fill in all your personal details, address along with other particulars. You need to click on declaration and should upload the photograph without which you may not proceed to next page. Complete the details and move to next page

You need to fill in your specialization preferences in PGDM programme on this page. You should choose two specializations at the application stage

Step 4: Education
Next page on SPJIMR application form requires you to fill up all your academic details from class 10 onwards including professional degree. Another key item that you need to fill in is the information on academic break, if any during your academics.

Step 7: Make Payment of Application Fee
SPJIMR asks you to make payment of application fee of Rs. 1500/- after you have completed your application form. This is the final step to fill the application form. You can make payment through Credit/Debit card, Net Banking among others

SPJIMR Mumbai Admission Eligibility

  1. To meet the SPJIMR eligibility criteria, an applicant must possess a strong and consistent academic background. Performance in 10th grade, 12th grade and every year of graduation are considered in the SPJIMR selection process
  2. The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA
  3. The bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent
  4. If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by IIM Ahmedabad by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant by 100 to confirm the eligibility of the candidate
  5. A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.
  6. Such a candidate should have obtained 50% marks or equivalent in the latest exam that has been completed. In such a case, applicants must provide a provisional certificate from the Principal/ Registrar of his/ her institute/ college stating that he/ she has appeared for all the exams and has completed all the obligations required to obtain the degree.
  7. It is mandatory for a final year student, who is provisionally considered eligible by SPJIMR Mumbai and offered admission, to submit the mark-sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination latest by December 31, 2019. 
  8. The Applicant should have appeared in CAT 2018/XAT 2019 or GMAT (Taken between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2018) exam and must have scored minimum prescribed score in the entrance exam to become eligible for admission
  9. Work experience is not mandatory for this program. Fresh graduates and those with up to five years of work experience can apply.
  10. Relevant work experience after graduation will only be considered. Internship/ training/ project work which was a part of the curriculum will not be considered as work experience.

  1. SPJIMR Mumbai Shortlisting Criteria
    The first part of SPJIMR Mumbai Admission criteria is its shortlisting criteria for final selection round. A candidate will be shortlisted by SPJIMR Mumbai in two phases:

SPJIMR Shortlisting Criteria Phase-I: Profile Based

  • The applicants are shortlisted on the basis of their profiles.
  • The candidates should also meet the qualifying scores in the entrance exam
  • The profiles are scored and the applicants are sorted into Profile based Shortlist
  • Applicants shortlisted on the basis of their profiles are called for an early interview.
  • The profile based shortlist is based on Consistency of academic record, Relevance of work experience for the specialization, Versatility & achievements
  • Early interviews are convenient for students because it avoids overlapping with other interview calls during the admissions season
  • For the Institute, early interviews  gives an opportunity to stagger interviews and ensure that the interview process remains flawless even though numbers being interviewed are large.

SPJIMR Shortlisting Criteria Phase-II: Profile-Cum-Score Based

  • Applicants are also sorted into Profile-cum-score based group  
  • The second phase of shortlist is finalized for interviews after the availability of entrance test scores.
  • Applicants in this phase are called for interviews on basis of their profile and their performance in the CAT/ XAT/GMAT entrance tests.

  • All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in Final selection round for admission to SPJIMR Mumbai
  • The selection list is based on a composite score, which takes into account the applicant’s profile, academic record, entrance test scores (CAT/XAT/GMAT), Work experience and performance in the two rounds of group interviews

SPJIMR Mumbai Admission Cut Off  
SPJIMR Mumbai cut off 2019 for all the three entrance exams is not very high. The candidates above the minimum cut-offs in the CAT/XAT/GMAT will be considered for all the subsequent stages.

SPJIMR Mumbai Admission Process
Following steps are included in the SPJIMR Mumbai Admission process:

Step 1: Choose Specialization at Application Stage
Carefully register and apply for admission to SPJIMR. While applying, the applicant is required to select two preferences from four specializations offered - Finance, Information Management, Marketing Management and Operations & Supply Chain.

Step 2: Appear in Entrance Exam
The candidate must have appeared or have registered to appear and score the minimum required percentile in CAT 2018/XAT 2019 or GMAT (Exam taken from Jan 1, 2016 to Dec 31, 2018)

Step 3: Shortlist
The first phase includes the candidates, short-listed for Interview round from among the candidates who have excellent profile for early interviews and the second phase includes the candidates shortlisted on the basis of their profile-cum-entrance exam score after declaration of entrance exam result for phase-2 interviews. These candidates must have applied to the programme and must satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme  

Step 4: Interview Round
After the Shortlisting process, group interviews will be held in different cities to select the suitable students for the programme. The final selection is based on a diverse set of attributes which includes profile, performance in entrance exam, performance in Interview round, work experience among others

Step 5: Final Admission Offer
Final Admission Offer will be made to the candidates in the last week of April/First week of May 2019 on the basis of Final Merit Score

SPJIMR Mumbai Fees

  • The total programme fees payable by PGDM students at SPJIMR Mumbai is Rs 16,00,000/-
  • Laptop computer, personal expenses on boarding, travel, clothes and laundry are extra.
  • The total programme fees for the 2019-2021 batch may increase after making adjustment for inflations.
