FMS Delhi Admission 2020: MBA Selection Result Out; 285 Candidates Selected – Complete Formalities and pay fee by June 8

FMS Delhi has released the final result for MBA admission 2020 with a list of 285 candidates finally selected for the 2020-22 batch in different categories. All the candidates need to complete their admission formalities and should pay required fee latest by June 8, 2020. FMS Delhi released a shortlist of 2750 candidates on March 12 for an intake of 275 seats in MBA programme

Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Delhi has released final admission result 2020 for MBA 2020-22 batch on its website after completing the final selection process. The result consists of category wise list of finally selected candidates. You can check your admission status by browsing the relevant lists on FMS admission website. No ID/Password is required to check your admission status.

Pay Fee by June 8, 2020
FMS Delhi has instructed all the selected candidates to complete their admission formalities online latest by June 8, 2020. The necessary offer acceptance/admission fee should also be paid online at the givem link on FMS Delhi admission website.

According to the institute, “All candidates are required to complete the online admission process during the period from: May 27, 2020 to June 08, 2020 between 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM from Monday to Friday.”

To deposit the required fee online as per University of Delhi rules, candidates should visit FMS Delhi admission site and pay fee as under:

The MBA 2020 admission process at Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Delhi was delayed due to Corona Virus lockdown. The GD-PI-Extempore round for final selection was postponed.

Through its notice dated May 16, 2020, the Dean, FMS Delhi has informed, “In view of the unprecedented situation created due to the ongoing pandemic, the process for selection of students for 2020 batches of MBA, MBA Exe, MBA Exe (HCA) and Ph.D. programs of Faculty of Management Studies has been delayed. Updates with the modified schedule will be published within the next few days. Shortlisted applicants would be notified through their registered email IDs.”

GD Dropped
FMS Delhi awards a weightage of 15% to performance in Personal Interview (PI); 10% to the performance in Group Discussion (GD) and 5% to the performance in Extempore round. While GD is conducted before PI, the Extempore with a duration of 2-3 minutes is conducted during the Personal Interview. For the MBA admission 2020, weightage to GD was dropped and PI round was conducted online for the remaining candidates who could not participate in person.

Sharing the postponement of PI round, FMS Delhi Dean, Dr Sunita Sen Gupta had informed, “With regard to Outbreak of Corona Virus (Covid-19), the interviews/GD/PI of MBA (FT), MBA (Executive)/MBA Executive (HCA) stands postponed till further notice. Any update in this regard shall be notified on the website of Faculty of Management Studies only.”

FMS Delhi released a shortlist of 2750 candidates on March 12 for an intake of 275 seats in FMS Delhi flagship MBA programme. FMS Delhi accepts only CAT 2019 score cut offs with varying sectional weightage for shortlisting the candidates for final selection round.

FMS Delhi has substantially increased its 2 years MBA fee. Now, FMS Delhi MBA full time course fee for 2020-22 batch has gone up to Rs.48,000/- per semester (Rs.1.92 lakhs for 2 years) from Rs.25,000/- for two years. FMS Delhi application process for MBA admission was closed on November 25, 2019. Apart from appearing in CAT 2019, the applicants had to apply separately online to FMS Delhi.

With the implementation of EWS Reservation, FMS Delhi has increased 25% seats for its MBA batch 2020-22 offering more admission opportunities to the deserving candidates. Total seats for MBA 2020-22 batch at FMS Delhi have now increased to 275 from 200 last year. The seats are divided between General and Reserved category as under:

FMS Delhi Shortlisting Criteria
FMS Delhi shortlisting criteria for final selection round aims to encourage diversity of Gender and Academic Disciplines. For the purpose of shortlisting candidates for Interview Process different weightages are assigned to the scores of different sections of the CAT 2019.

FMS Delhi has shortlisted the candidates on the basis of sectional and overall CAT 2019 score, gender diversity and other criteria as under:

  • The shortlisting for final selection round in FMS Admission Criteria awards 100% weight to CAT 2019 score
  • In the shortlisting criteria, the candidate is awarded weightage to sectional percentile scores in CAT 2019.  Score in Quantitative Ability (QA) section is awarded 30% weight; the Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) section also carries a weight of 30% while the Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) section carries highest weightage of 40%.
  • An additional 3 marks are added to the Composite score so computed in case of women candidates for the purpose of shortlisting.
  • This composite score is used only for shortlisting the candidates for Interview Process.
  • All the Candidates shortlisted for final selection round have to attend GD-PI & Extempore, failing which they will be not be considered for the final admission

FMS Delhi has shortlisted the candidates for GD- PI stage on the basis of CAT 2019 scores. The weightage to the scores of three sections in CAT 2019 are as under:

2. Final Admission Selection Round Criteria

  • All the shortlisted candidates must participate in Final selection round for admission to FMS Delhi
  • Final selection round for FMS admission 2020 will begin after Covid-19 lock down. The dates will be notified after the lock down.  
  • FMS Delhi selection criteria include Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Extempore speech.
  • The GD-PI-Extempore round is held at FMS-Delhi University campus.
  • The Merit list after final admission round is based on CAT 2019 score, performance in GD-PI-Extempore, Academic profile.

FMS Delhi Admission Cut Off  
Earlier FMS Delhi used to take into account overall CAT exam score. For the last three years FMS has also included the sectional cut offs as per the weightage. However, going by the past pattern, a candidate with high sectional percentile score of 97+ in CAT 2019 has been shortlisted as per the sectional weightage criteria.

FMS Delhi MBA Fee: High RoI MBA College
MBA programme at FMS Delhi is offered at low fee but the placements at FMS are at par or even cross the packages that students of top three IIMs get at campus placements. The RoI is so high that while the FMS MBA fee is lower than a normal school fee, the facilities, learning experience and industry readiness which the FMS students get, commensurate with global standards. Increase in FMS Delhi MBA Programme Fee: From 25K to 1.92 Lakhs
After many years of keeping its MBA fee at Rs.20,000 to 25,000 for the complete MBA programme, FMS Delhi has now increased its MBA course fee to Rs.48,000 per semester including all the components. The total MBA fee at FMS for all the four semesters, therefore goes up to Rs. 1.92 lakhs.

According to the MBA Admission 2020 bulletin released by Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi on October 10, 2019, “The semester fee payable to Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi is approximately Rs.48,000 for MBA programme. However, students from PWD category shall be exempted from payment of all fees except Admission fee and Identity Card fee. Total academic fee structure therefore comes to around Rs.1.92 lakhs. The fee for various programmes is payable at the beginning of the academic year.

Besides this fee, the students have created a registered body, i.e. Management Science Association (MSA), comprising of various societies, which charges membership fee for carrying out student activities. The fee for them is decided by the students from time to time.

Accordingly, the other fee components in FMS Delhi MBA programme are higher than tuition/academic or other fee. The complete fee structure at FMS Delhi is as below:

FMS Delhi Admission Eligibility

  1. The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration after class 12, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST only passing marks are required. In case of OBC/PwD and CW category candidates, 45% marks at graduation are required).
  2. Applicant had to appear in CAT 2019 exam and must have scored minimum prescribed sectional and overall percentile to become eligible for next stage of shortlisting
  3. A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results were also eligible to apply for FMS Delhi Admission 2020 for MBA 2020-22 batch.

FMS Delhi Admission Process
Following steps are included in the FMS Delhi Admission process:

Step 1: The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required sectional and overall percentile in CAT 2019 to be considered for first stage shortlisting process for admission at FMS Delhi. Candidates are short-listed for GD-PI round from among the candidates who have a valid CAT-2019 score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme of FMS Delhi. The GD-PI round will be conducted at Delhi. 

Step 2: Shortlisted Candidates have to attend GD, PI and extempore round in final selection process in April 2020. FMS Delhi also expects a consistent and minimum performance in the different parameters of PI round.

Step 3: After the GD- PI round, admission offers are made by FMS Delhi to successful candidates. The final selection is based on performance in CAT, performance in GD-PI round, academics among others. Category wise merit list will be generated based on Final Score

Step 4: Final Admission Offer will be made to the candidates in April 2020 on the basis of composite Score arrived after awarding the weightage scores on all the components.
