
Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Delhi has announced many changes in its MBA admission process 2021. The application process is online only with no change in the application fee which remains at Rs.1000/- as was last year. The last date to apply for FMS Delhi MBA admission 2021 has been extended to January 15, 2021 due to Covid-19 situation from earlier Dec 31, 2020.
FMS Admission Criteria: Key Changes in Process
Following changes are announced by FMS Delhi in its MBA admission criteria and final selection process for 2021-23 batch
- Group Discussion (GD) will not be conducted due to Covid-19 pandemic
- New Component ‘Discussion on Statement of Purpose’ is introduced in final selection
- Personal Interview (PI) round and Extempore to be conducted Online
- Maximum weightage awarded to Personal Interview (PI) Round
- MBA Seats increased to 287 including supernumerary seats
- MBA (Full Time) Programme Fee Increased to Rs.1.92 Lakhs from Rs.25,000/-
- FMS Delhi will shortlist the candidates by awarding varying weightage of 30% to 40% to the three sections of CAT 2020 Score
- 5 Additional marks are added to the Composite Score in case of women candidates for the purpose of shortlisting

FMS delayed its application process for MBA admission 2021 due to Covid-19 pandemic by more than a month as it used to open the application in September/October every year.

FMS Delhi MBA Fee for 2021-23 Batch
FMS Delhi has substantially increased its 2 years MBA fee. Now, FMS Delhi MBA full time course fee for 2020-22 batch has gone up to Rs.48,000/- per semester (Rs.1.92 lakhs for 2 years) from Rs.25,000/- for two years. The fee is payable at the beginning of the academic year. Students from PWD category shall be exempted from payment of all fees except Admission fee and Identity Card fee.
After many years of keeping its MBA fee at Rs.20,000 to 25,000 for the complete MBA programme, FMS Delhi has now increased its MBA course fee to Rs. 1.92 lakhs.
Besides this fee, the students have created a registered body, i.e. Management Science Association (MSA), comprising of various societies, which charges membership fee for carrying out student activities. The fee for them is decided by the students from time to time.
Accordingly, the other fee components in FMS Delhi MBA programme are higher than tuition/academic or other fee. The complete fee structure at FMS Delhi is as below:

No GD in Admission 2021
In its admission policy 2021, FMS Delhi has replaced GD round by Discussion on Statement of Purpose (SoP). Earlier it used to award a weightage of 10% to performance in Group Discussion (GD). While GD was conducted before PI, the Extempore with a duration of 2-3 minutes is conducted during the Personal Interview. For the MBA admission 2021, weightage to GD is dropped and PI round is proposed to be conducted online for the shortlisted candidates.
FMS Delhi is the coveted management faculty of University of Delhi and is one of the most sought after MBA college at par with top IIMs. Even after the increase in the MBA fee to Rs.48,000/- per semester, FMS Delhi is one of the most sought after MBA colleges in India due to its high placements which still make it the highest RoI MBA college in India.
FMS Delhi will consider only CAT 2020 score for shortlisting and will award varying weightage parameters to sectional percentile in CAT 2020 to shortlist the candidates for final selection round.
FMS Delhi Shortlisting Criteria
FMS Delhi shortlisting criteria for final selection round aims to encourage diversity of Gender and Academic Disciplines. For the purpose of shortlisting candidates for Interview Process different weightages are assigned to the scores of different sections of the CAT 2020.
FMS Delhi will shortlist the candidates on the basis of sectional and overall CAT 2020 score, gender diversity and other criteria as under:
- The shortlisting for final selection round in FMS Admission Criteria awards 100% weight to CAT 2020 score
- In the shortlisting criteria, the candidate is awarded weightage to sectional percentile scores in CAT 2020. Score in Quantitative Ability (QA) section is awarded 30% weight; the Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) section also carries a weight of 30% while the Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) section carries highest weightage of 40%.
- An additional 5 marks are added to the Composite score so computed in case of women candidates for the purpose of shortlisting.
- This composite score is used only for shortlisting the candidates for Interview Process.
- All the Candidates shortlisted for final selection round have to attend GD-PI & Extempore, failing which they will be not be considered for the final admission

Final Admission Selection Round Criteria
- All the shortlisted candidates must participate in Final selection round for admission to FMS Delhi
- Final selection round for FMS admission 2021 will be held in online mode
- FMS Delhi selection criteria include Discussion on Statement of Purpose, Personal Interview and Extempore speech.
- The PI-Extempore round will be held online
- The Merit list after final admission round is based on CAT 2020 score, performance in SoP Discussion, PI, Extempore, Academic profile.

- An additional 3% of the maximum aggregate marks shall be awarded to the women candidates who appear for the interview while drawing the list of selected candidates
- Final Merit List of selected candidates would be released by FMS Delhi immediately after the last day of final selection round is over
FMS Delhi Admission Cut Off
Earlier FMS Delhi used to take into account overall CAT exam score. For the last three years FMS has also included the sectional cut offs as per the weightage. However, going by the past pattern, a candidate with high sectional percentile score of 97+ in CAT 2020 may be shortlisted as per the sectional weightage criteria.
FMS Delhi Admission Eligibility
- The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration after class 12, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST only passing marks are required. In case of OBC/PwD and CW category candidates, 45% marks at graduation are required).
- Applicant must have appeared in CAT 2020 exam and must have scored minimum prescribed sectional and overall percentile to become eligible for next stage of shortlisting
- A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results were also eligible to apply for FMS Delhi Admission 2021 for MBA 2021-23 batch.

To apply for MBA admission at FMS Delhi, you should register and fill the online application form at FMS website. The application form should be submitted online alongwith the payment of Rs.1000/- application fee (For SC/ST/PWD Application fee is Rs.350/-)

You will be directed to the Internet Payment Gateway of the Bank as mentioned in FMS website. Confirm payment through credit card/ debit card or other payment channels. After successful online payment, you will be directed back to the FMS Website. A confirmation of registration will follow.

FMS Delhi MBA: Flagship Programme
The 2 years full time residential MBA programme at FMS Delhi is the flagship management course of the Faculty of Management, University of Delhi. The MBA degree after completion of the course is awarded by Delhi University.
Apart from the 2 years flagship MBA programme, FMS Delhi also offers 2 years part time MBA Executive Programme, MBA Executive (Health Care Administration) Programme and Doctoral Programme in Management.
FMS Delhi Admission Process
Following steps are included in the FMS Delhi Admission process:
Step 1: The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required sectional and overall percentile in CAT 2020 to be considered for first stage shortlisting process for admission at FMS Delhi. Candidates are short-listed for PI round from among the candidates who have a valid CAT-2020 score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme of FMS Delhi.
Step 2: Shortlisted Candidates have to attend PI and extempore round in final selection process in April 2021. FMS Delhi also expects a consistent and minimum performance in the different parameters of PI round.
Step 3: After the PI round, admission offers are made by FMS Delhi to successful candidates. The final selection is based on performance in CAT, performance in PI round, academics among others. Category wise merit list will be generated based on Final Score
Step 4: Final Admission Offer will be made to the candidates in April 2021 on the basis of composite Score arrived after awarding the weightage scores on all the components.
FMS Delhi has technology resources and facilities in both its North and South Campuses. Both the campuses of FMS are fully Wi-Fi enabled where students can access Live Databases, Online Journals and the World Wide Web. FMS has a dedicated computer centre for students where they can access online journals, keep themselves updated with day to day developments and also assist themselves in studies.
