With many changes expected in the process of FMS Delhi MBA admission 2023 in the post Covid scenario, the online application process will not have any change in the application fee which is Rs.1000/- as was last year. The high RoI B-school of Delhi University, Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Delhi is opening its application process in October for MBA admission 2023. FMS Delhi will accept CAT 2022 score for admission 2023 in its MBA (Full-Time), MBA Executive and MBA Executive (Health Care Administration) Programme (2023-25).

Following changes are introduced in FMS Delhi MBA admission criteria and final selection process for 2023-25 batch

  • No Group Discussion (GD) Round
  • New Component ‘Discussion on Statement of Purpose’ is introduced in final selection
  • Extempore to be conducted before Personal Interview on the same day
  • Maximum weightage is awarded to Personal Interview (PI) Round

4. FMS Delhi MBA Fees 2023-25: Fee Increased – Check Key Trends
FMS Delhi MBA Fees is substantially increased. Now the FMS Delhi MBA Fees for its 2 years full time course has gone up to Rs.48,000/- per semester (Rs.1.92 lakhs for 2 years) from Rs.25,000/- for two years earlier. The fee is payable at the beginning of the academic year. Students from PWD category shall be exempted from payment of all fees except Admission fee and Identity Card fee.

After many years of keeping its MBA fee at Rs.20,000 to 25,000 for the complete MBA programme, FMS Delhi MBA fees is now increased to Rs. 1.92 lakhs.

Besides this fee, the students have created a registered body, i.e. Management Science Association (MSA), comprising of various societies, which charges membership fee for carrying out student activities. The fee for them is decided by the students from time to time.

Accordingly, the other fee components in FMS Delhi MBA programme are higher than tuition/academic or other fee. The complete fee structure at FMS Delhi is as below:

FMS Delhi Placement 2022 concluded with with highest ever average salary which has gone up by 24% at Rs.32.4 LPA from Rs.26.2 LPA last year while median salary has gone up by 25% at Rs.30 LPA. 7. FMS Delhi Admission Eligibility criteria 2023
Following are the salient points that determine FMS Delhi admission eligibility criteria

  1. The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration after class 12, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST only passing marks are required. In case of OBC/PwD and CW category candidates, 45% marks at graduation are required).
  2. Applicant must appear in CAT 2022 exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall percentile to become eligible for next stage of shortlisting
  3. A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results were also eligible to apply for FMS Delhi MBA Admission 2023 for MBA 2023-25 batch.

8. FMS Delhi MBA Admission Application Process 2023: How to Apply?
To apply for MBA admission at FMS Delhi, you should register and fill the online application form at FMS website. The application form should be submitted online alongwith the payment of Rs.1000/- application fee (For SC/ST/PWD Application fee is Rs.350/-)

Please keep ready all your documents like Mark Sheets from class X onwards; category certificate, if any, scanned photograph & signature of required size to upload on the FMS Admission application form. 

8.1 Online Payment through Internet Payment Gateway
While filling in, your application form, you will be directed to the Internet Payment Gateway of the Bank as mentioned in FMS website. Confirm payment through credit card/ debit card or other payment channels.  After successful online payment, you will be directed back to the FMS Website. A confirmation of registration will follow.

9. FMS Delhi Admission Criteria 2023: Exam Accepted, Final selection Process
FMS Delhi admission criteria is based on entrance exam score, shortlisting criteria and final selection criteria with many changes introduced this year in award of weightages for admission 2023.

9.1 Acceptable Entrance Exam: CAT 2022

  • FMS Delhi will consider only CAT 2022 score for shortlisting and has awarded varying weightage parameters to sectional percentile in CAT 2022 to shortlist the candidates for final selection round
  • Applicants who have not taken CAT 2022 will not be considered for admission

9.2 FMS Delhi Shortlisting Criteria
FMS Delhi shortlisting criteria for final selection round aims to encourage diversity of Gender and Academic Disciplines. For the purpose of shortlisting candidates for Interview Process different weightages are assigned to the scores of different sections of the CAT 2022.

FMS Delhi will shortlist the candidates on the basis of sectional and overall CAT 2022 score, gender diversity and other criteria as under:

  • The shortlisting for final selection round in FMS Admission Criteria awards 100% weight to CAT 2022 score
  • In the shortlisting criteria, the candidate is awarded weightage to sectional percentile scores in CAT 2022.  Score in Quantitative Ability (QA) section is awarded 30% weight; the Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) section also carries a weight of 30% while the Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) section carries highest weightage of 40%.
  • An additional 5 marks are added to the Composite score so computed in case of women candidates for the purpose of shortlisting.
  • This composite score is used only for shortlisting the candidates for Interview Process.
  • All the Candidates shortlisted for final selection round have to attend GD-PI & Extempore, failing which they will be not be considered for the final admission

9.3 Final Admission Selection Round Criteria: In April 2023, Third Week

  • All the shortlisted candidates must participate in Final selection round for admission to FMS Delhi
  • Final selection round for FMS admission 2023 may be held in physical or online mode depending upon the pandemic situation
  • FMS Delhi selection criteria include Discussion on Statement of Purpose, Personal Interview and Extempore speech.
  • The PI-Extempore round is held offline in physical mode
  • The Merit list after final admission round is based on CAT 2022 score, performance in SoP Discussion/GD, PI, Extempore, Academic profile.

9.4 FMS Delhi Admission Weightages 2023 in Final Selection

  • An additional 5 marks shall be awarded to the women candidates who appear for the interview while drawing the list of selected candidates
  • Final Merit List of selected candidates would be released by FMS Delhi immediately after the last day of final selection round is over for all the candidates
  • The candidates will be required to produce their original certificates and mark sheets at the time of the interview  

9.5 Group Discussion may not be held in FMS Admission 2023
In its admission policy 2023, FMS Delhi might replace GD round by Discussion on Statement of Purpose (SoP). Earlier it used to award a weightage of 10% to performance in Group Discussion (GD). While GD was conducted before PI, the Extempore with a duration of 2-3 minutes is conducted during the Personal Interview. For the MBA admission 2023, weightage to GD may be dropped and PI round may consist of SoP and Extempore apart from Personal Interview.

FMS Delhi will consider only CAT 2021 score for shortlisting and will award varying weightage parameters to sectional percentile in CAT 2021 to shortlist the candidates for final selection round. 

10. FMS Delhi Cut offs
FMS Delhi cut offs are based on various parameters. However, broadly FMS cut offs for General Category are around CAT 98 %ile. Since it uses varying weightages of 40% for VARC section and 30% weightage for DILR and QA sections each, those who score high overall percentile in CAT but low percentile in VARC section, may not be shortlisted while those score comparatively low overall percentile, but high percentile in VARC section may be preferred in shortlisting. Accordingly the FMS Cut off 2023 may not be uniform for all the shortlisted candidates. FMS will award following weightage to CAT 2022 scores in shortlisting the candidates for PI stage on the basis of CAT 2022 scores. The weightage to the scores of three sections in CAT 2022 are as under:

12. FMS Admission 2023: Step by Step Process
Following 4 steps are included in the FMS Delhi Admission process:

  • Step 1: The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required sectional and overall percentile in CAT 2022 to be considered for first stage shortlisting process for admission at FMS Delhi. Candidates are short-listed for PI round from among the candidates who have a valid CAT-2022 score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme of FMS Delhi.  
  • Step 2: Shortlisted Candidates have to attend PI and extempore round in final selection process in April 2023. FMS Delhi also expects a consistent and minimum performance in the different parameters of PI round.
  • Step 3: After the PI round, admission offers are made by FMS Delhi to successful candidates. The final selection is based on performance in CAT, performance in PI round, academics among others. Category wise merit list will be generated based on Final Score
  • Step 4: Final Admission Offer will be made to the candidates in April/May 2023 on the basis of composite Score arrived after awarding the weightage scores on all the components.

13. FMS Delhi Admission: Previous Trends
Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Delhi conducted physical Personal Interview (PI) round with all components of final selection process and has awarded varying weightages to different components. The PI round at FMS began on April 18 and was over on April 23, 2022 for all the 1980 shortlisted candidates for MBA admission 2022. FMS has the reputation to declare final merit list for MBA admission on the last day or next day of PI round. For MBA Admission 2022 too, the final result was released on April 24, 2022 immediately after completion of PI round on April 23. FMS released 10 lists of selected candidates from the waiting list as many students in the first list did not accept the admission offer and did not pay admission fee of Rs.48,000.

The 2 years full time residential MBA programme at FMS Delhi is the flagship management course of the Faculty of Management, University of Delhi. The MBA degree after completion of the course is awarded by Delhi University.

14. FMS Delhi Admission 2024
There are many young students who wish to appear in CAT and apply for FMS Delhi MBA admission 2024. For last 3-4 years FMS Has not much changed its admission criteria. It is expected that FMS Delhi Admission 2024 criteria will remain same as is now. The FMS MBA aspirants, need to begin CAT preparation now and by the time they become eligible to appear in CAT 2023, they would have completed a large part of their CAT exam preparation which will help to score high in the exam and improve chances for FMS Delhi admission 2024.
