Goa Institute of Management (GIM) Goa, one of the leading B-schools in India is closing admission 2021 application process on January 14, 2021.

GIM Goa will accept XAT 2021, CAT 2020, GMAT – taken between January 1, 2019 and January 14, 2021 and CMAT 2021 exam scores for admission.  Last date to apply for admission to GIM Goa is January 14, 2021 at an application fee of Rs.3500/- per programme.

AICTE Norms for Admission Eligibility
As per AICTE norm, for PGDM, PGDM (HCM), PGDM (BDA) and PGDM (BIFS) minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for candidates belonging to SC / ST category) in a three-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) recognized by the Association of Indian Universities / AICTE are required. If an applicant does not complete all degree related requirements by June 5, 2021 or does not obtain 50% aggregate marks, the offer of admission will stand cancelled. Candidates in the last year of degree should have obtained minimum 50% aggregate in the latest examination.

The intake capacity for full-time PGDM course is 240, for PGDM (HCM) course it is 60, for PGDM (BDA) course it is 120 and for PGDM (BIFS) the intake is also 60 students.

GIM Goa Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA of minimum 3 years duration
  • Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination in the year 2021, can also apply. Such candidates, have to submit a certificate from the Principal / Registrar of their University/institution certifying that the candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent, based on latest available grades/marks.
  • Candidates satisfying all requirements for the degree by June 5, 2021 may also apply.
  • For admission to Post Graduate Programme in Business Management 2021, only candidates registering for XLRI Admissions Test XAT 2021 of Xavier Labour Relations Institute, Jamshedpur or CAT- 2020 of the Indian Institutes of Managements (IIMs) or GMAT conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) taken between 1st January 2019 and 14th January 2021 or CMAT- 2021 of All India Council for Technical Education may apply.
  • Applicants should note that the mere fulfilment of minimum eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for short listing by GIM
  • Candidates must declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and a phone number throughout the selection process.

GIM Goa Admission Criteria
GIM Goa Admission Criteria 2021 is a two step process involving the shortlisting criteria and the Final selection Criteria comprising CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT exam score, GD-PI round, Academics among others.

1. GIM Goa Shortlisting Criteria
The first part of GIM Goa Admission criteria is its shortlisting criteria for final selection round. A candidate will be shortlisted by GIM if he/she meets the following shortlisting criteria:

  • The qualifying cut-off XAT / CAT / GMAT / CMAT score will be lowered by 15 points for candidates of Goan domicile / origin. Documentary evidence of domicile will have to be uploaded at the time of submitting the application.
  • International / NRI candidates will need valid GMAT score. Fees are marginally higher and are payable in US $ for international candidates. Interviews shall be through video conferencing. 

PGDM (BDA)

  • For PGDM - BDA shortlisting will be face-to-face evaluation and shall be on the basis of profiles (XAT, CAT, GMAT, or CMAT score, qualification, past academic performance, and work experience). Shortlisted candidates shall be invited for interview process in various cities in early March 2020.
  • Candidates for PGDM (BDA) will need to appear for an on-line aptitude test (called GAAT), organized by GIM to evaluate the candidates for BDA. The date for GAAT is January 31, 2021

PGDM (HCM)

  • The PGDM-HCM shortlisting for face-to-face evaluation shall be on the basis of profiles including XAT, CAT, GMAT, or CMAT score, qualification, past academic performance, and work experience. 
  • Shortlisted candidates shall be invited for interview process in various cities in early March 2021.

PGDM (BIFS)

  • For PGDM – BFSI, shortlisting will be face-to-face evaluation and shall be on the basis of profiles (XAT, CAT, GMAT, or CMAT score, qualification, past academic performance, and work experience). Shortlisted candidates shall be invited for interview process in various cities in early March 2021.

PGDM
For PGDM, a select group of candidates shall be invited to Goa for Achiever's Round of interview process in January 2021. All other candidates shall be invited for Regular Round in early March 2021 at various interview centres.

A. Shortlisting For Achiever's Round

  •  Interviews shall be held only in Goa and shortlisted candidates shall be eligible to apply for scholarships.
  • Candidates not shortlisted for Achiever's Round will not be eligible for scholarships. If a candidate shortlisted for Achiever's Round decides to opt out of Achiever's Round and attends Regular Round, the candidate will not be eligible for scholarship.
  • Shortlisting shall be based on curricular, extracurricular, and career achievements and profile -qualification, past academic performance, and work experience of the candidates.
  • The shortlist shall be drawn without XAT, CAT, GMAT, or CMAT score to facilitate interview process in January 2020. Scores shall be incorporated later on.
  • If available, candidates are required to submit the competitive examination (XAT, CAT, GMAT, or CMAT) scores at the time of Achiever’s Round interviews.

B. Shortlisting For Regular Round
Shortlisting for PGDM for Regular Round shall be based on XAT, CAT, GMAT, or CMAT score of candidates.

2. Final Admission Selection Criteria

  • All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in Final selection round for admission to GIM Goa
  • Final Interview Round 2021 at GIM will be held at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai (All centres are subject to availability)
  • Final Admission offer at GIM Goa will be based on entrance exam scores, past academic performance, objective assessment, work experience, face to face evaluation  among other parameters.
  • Interview process for Achiever’s round will be held in January 2021 and for Regular round will be held in February/March 2021
  • Result of the selected candidates shall be released in April 2021

Following steps are included in the GIM Goa Admission process:

  • Step 1: The candidate must apply and appear in one of the MBA entrance exams. Applicants are required to take XAT 2021 or CAT- 2020 or GMAT examination taken between 1st January 2019 and 14th January 2021 or CMAT - 2021. Applicants with GMAT are required to inform GMAC latest by 20th January 2021 to send the official score directly to GIM,
  • Step 2: Candidates should register and apply for admission to GIM Goa within the prescribed deadline
  • Step 3: Candidates are short-listed based on above mentioned parameters for PGDM, PGDM-BDA, PGDM-HCM, PGDM-BIFS as per the choice exercised by the candidate while filling up the application form.
  • Step 4: Final selection round will be held at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai (All centres are subject to availability)
  • Step 5: After the final selection round, admission offers will be made to successful candidates in April/May 2021 as per the merit list. Academic session would commence in June 2021.
