Due to disruption caused by the COVID-19, MBA & PGDM Admission 2020 process has been delayed. To streamline, on May 1, regulatory body AICTE issued a notification with revised Academic Calendar 2020, Online Classes and Fee guidelines for B-schools. Q: Please tell us the current status of your Admission 2020 process?
A: Admission interviews at GIM Goa have been completed. Results and Wait-list for all programs have also been declared.

Q: So, have you declared final Admission List?
A: Yes, we have.

Q: What steps should your selected students take like fee submission?
A: Students should follow instructions communicated to them by us.

Students who have a problem in being able to pay, have been asked to indicate their confirmation and pay later.

Q: Please share your Fee details, last date to submit, and refund process?
A: We do not have a Last Date to Submit.

Our refund process is as per AICTE guidelines. Entire fee is refunded, subject to a maximum refund processing fee of Rs 1,000, if withdrawals are made before 1st day of classes.

Q: So, when are you planning to start the new batch?
A: We are planning to start our new batch from 1st August 2020.

Q: Will you start with Online classes? What platform do you plan to use…
A: Yes, we will start with Online Classes.

We will start Online with MS Teams being the main platform and also use other platforms to supplement.

Q: Are you planning Pre-MBA Orientation classes…
A: We will have a 2-week induction cum orientation program including perspective building talks by leading economists and industry leaders and foundation courses on accounting, math, R and communication.

Q: To close, will you like to share any other details with MBA Aspirants?
A: Students should know that we at GIM Goa will be maintaining social distancing protocols when students eventually come to campus later in year.

Goa Institute of Management (GIM) Goa, one of the leading B-schools in India closed the application process for PGDM admission 2020 on January 3, 2020 after offering the last chance to apply with late fee at Rs.3500/-.

GIM Goa invited a select group of candidates to Goa for Achiever's Round of interview process in January 2020. All other candidates were invited for Regular Interview Round in early March 2020 at various interview centres. For shortlisting the candidates, GIM Goa accepted XAT 2020, CAT 2019, GMAT 2018/20th January 2020 and CMAT 2020 exam scores.

GIM Goa has a consistent record of excellent placement. The maximum and average compensation packages at Goa Institute of management have been rising year after year. As per the interim placements 2020, the average salary at GIM Goa has increased to Rs.11.50 for 2018-20 batch from Rs.11. 40 lakhs in placement 2019. The highest salary in Placement 2020 has gone up to Rs.25.60 LPA from Rs.24.37 lakhs in placement 2019.

Application Fee for Three Phases 
Goa Institute of Management (GIM) had three phases of admission process namely the First Mover, Early Bird and Achiever’s Application phase. The application for all the phases is already closed alongwith the last chance to apply till January 3, 2020 with the application fee of Rs.3500/-. Usually, GIM Goa does not extend its admission application submission dates and closes the process on the announced dates.

How to Apply for GIM Admission

GIM Goa Application ccould be submitted online. Last date to apply for GIM admission 2020 was January 3, 2020 with late fee

  • Application form had to be submitted online to GIM Goa
  • Fill in ALL the relevant particulars and pay registration fee for processing the application.
  • Registration fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstance.
  • You will receive an email confirming the successful registration/payment immediately after making online payment.
  • You can make payment of Application fee by Demand Draft also. In this case you need to obtain a Demand Draft in favour of "Goa Institute of Management", payable at Panaji (or Panjim)
  • If you choose to pay by demand draft, take a printout of the Payment Advice, write your name and GIM ID on the reverse of the DD and send it along with the hard copy of application by courier/registered post/speed post to, The Admissions Office, Goa Institute of Management, Sanquelim Campus, Poriem, Sattari. Goa – 403505
  • On receipt of your payment advice, confirmation email will be sent

AICTE Norms for Admission Eligibility
As per AICTE norm, for PGDM, PGDM (HCM), PGDM (BDA) and PGDM (BFSI) minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for candidates belonging to SC / ST category) in a three-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) recognized by the Association of Indian Universities / AICTE are required. If an applicant does not complete all degree related requirements by May 29, 2020 or does not obtain 50% aggregate marks, the offer of admission will stand cancelled. Candidates in the last year of degree should have obtained minimum 50% aggregate in the latest examination.

The intake capacity for full-time PGDM course is 240, for PGDM (HCM) course it is 60, for PGDM (BDA) course it is 120 and for PGDM (BFSI) the intake is also 60 students.

GIM Goa Admission Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA of minimum 3 years duration
  • Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination in the year 2020, can also apply. Such candidates, have to submit a certificate from the Principal / Registrar of their University/institution certifying that the candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent, based on latest available grades/marks.
  • Candidates satisfying all requirements for the degree by May 29, 2020 may also apply.
  • For admission to Post Graduate Programme in Business Management 2020, only candidates registering for XLRI Admissions Test XAT 2020 of Xavier Labour Relations Institute, Jamshedpur or CAT- 2019 of the Indian Institutes of Managements (IIMs) or GMAT conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) taken between 1st January 2018 and 20th January 2020 or CMAT- 2020 of All India Council for Technical Education may apply.
  • Applicants should note that the mere fulfilment of minimum eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for short listing by GIM
  • Candidates must declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and a phone number throughout the selection process.

GIM Goa Admission Criteria
GIM Goa Admission Criteria 2020 was a two step process involving the shortlisting criteria and the Final selection Criteria comprising CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT exam score, GD-PI round, Academics among others.

  1. GIM Goa Shortlisting Criteria
    The first part of GIM Goa Admission criteria is its shortlisting criteria for final selection round. A candidate is shortlisted by GIM if he/she meets the following shortlisting criteria:
  • The qualifying cut-off XAT / CAT / GMAT / CMAT score will be lowered by 15 points for candidates of Goan domicile / origin. Documentary evidence of domicile will have to be uploaded at the time of submitting the application.
  • International / NRI candidates will need valid GMAT score. Fees are marginally higher and are payable in US $ for international candidates. Interviews shall be through video conferencing. 

PGDM (BDA)

  • For PGDM - BDA shortlisting will be face-to-face evaluation and shall be on the basis of profiles (XAT, CAT, GMAT, or CMAT score, qualification, past academic performance, and work experience). Shortlisted candidates shall be invited for interview process in various cities in early March 2020.
  • Candidates for PGDM (BDA) will need to appear for an on-line aptitude test (called GAAT), organized by GIM to evaluate the candidates for BDA. The date for GAAT will be announced by GIM and informed to candidates invited for GAAT.

PGDM (HCM)

  • The PGDM-HCM shortlisting for face-to-face evaluation shall be on the basis of profiles including XAT, CAT, GMAT, or CMAT score, qualification, past academic performance, and work experience. 
  • Shortlisted candidates shall be invited for interview process in various cities in early March 2020.

PGDM (BFSI)

  • For PGDM – BFSI, shortlisting will be face-to-face evaluation and shall be on the basis of profiles (XAT, CAT, GMAT, or CMAT score, qualification, past academic performance, and work experience). Shortlisted candidates shall be invited for interview process in various cities in early March 2020.

PGDM
For PGDM, a select group of candidates shall be invited to Goa for Achiever's Round of interview process in January 2020. All other candidates shall be invited for Regular Round in early March 2020 at various interview centres.

A. Shortlisting For Achiever's Round

  •  Interviews shall be held only in Goa and shortlisted candidates shall be eligible to apply for scholarships.
  • Candidates not shortlisted for Achiever's Round will not be eligible for scholarships. If a candidate shortlisted for Achiever's Round decides to opt out of Achiever's Round and attends Regular Round, the candidate will not be eligible for scholarship.
  • Shortlisting shall be based on curricular, extracurricular, and career achievements and profile -qualification, past academic performance, and work experience of the candidates.
  • The shortlist shall be drawn without XAT, CAT, GMAT, or CMAT score to facilitate interview process in January 2020. Scores shall be incorporated later on.
  • If available, candidates are required to submit the competitive examination (XAT, CAT, GMAT, or CMAT) scores at the time of Achiever’s Round interviews.

B. Shortlisting For Regular Round

  • Shortlisting for PGDM for Regular Round shall be based on XAT, CAT, GMAT, or CMAT score of candidates.
  1. Final Admission Selection Criteria
  • All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in Final selection round for admission to GIM Goa
  • Final Interview Round 2020 at GIM will be held at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune
  • Final Admission offer at GIM Goa will be based on entrance exam scores, past academic performance, objective assessment, work experience, face to face evaluation  among other parameters.
  • Interview process for Achiever’s round will be held in January 2020 and for Regular round will be held in February/March 2020
  • Result of the selected candidates shall be released in April 2020

GIM Goa Admission Process
Following steps are included in the GIM Goa Admission process:

  • Step 1: The candidate must apply and appear in one of the MBA entrance exams. Applicants are required to take XAT 2020 or CAT- 2019 or GMAT examination taken between 1st January 2018 and 20th January 2020 or CMAT - 2020. Applicants with GMAT are required to inform GMAC latest by 11th Feb 2020 to send the official score directly to GIM,
  • Step 2: Candidates should register and apply for admission to GIM Goa latest by the last date
  • Step 3: Candidates are short-listed based on above mentioned parameters for PGDM, PGDM-BDA, PGDM-HCM as per the choice exercised by the candidate while filling up the application form.
  • Step 4: Final selection round will be held at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune
  • Step 5: After the final selection round, admission offers are made to successful candidates as per the merit list. Academic session would commence on August 1 as per AICTE guidelines for academic session 2020.
