Due to disruption caused by the COVID-19, MBA & PGDM Admission 2020 process has been delayed. To streamline, on May 1, regulatory body AICTE issued a notification with revised Academic Calendar 2020, Online Classes and Fee guidelines for B-schools. Read more.

So, how are leading B-schools planning to complete their Admissions, and when are they planning to start new batch? To answer these queries with authentic information, MBAUniverse.com is interviewing official Spokespersons from leading B-schools.

In this article, we interviewed Prof. Sanghamitra Buddhapriya, Dean (Academics), FORE School of Management, New Delhi to check latest Admission Status, New Batch start date, Fees and more. Q: Prof Buddhapriya, please tell us the current status of Admission 2020 process at FORE?
A:
The entire selection process for admission 2020 was completed on March 13, 2020 and result was declared on April 11, 2020.

Q: Have you declared final Admission List?
A: Yes, we have declared the result and Merit List. Our Admission process is over.

Q: What steps should your selected students take like fee submission?
A:
Looking at the present situation because of the COVID-19, we are not insisting the candidates to pay their fees right away. However, selected candidates who are interested to take admission in the programme, are requested to send their consent by the stipulated date.

Q: Please share your Fee details, last date to submit, and refund process?
A: Total Programme Fees for PGDM/ PGDM-IB/ PGDM-FM at FORE School of Management is Rs. 14,98,000 as was last year. Students need to pay it in 4 equal instalments spreading over first year and second year of the Programme. Selected candidates are requested to pay the first instalment of 3,99,500 within 10 days of lifting of the total or partial lockdown.

As per the recent AICTE directive we are reviewing the admissions fee for AY 2020-21 including various features. We will communicate our decisions soon.

For Fee Refund, we follow the AICTE guidelines.

Q: So, when are you planning to start the new batch?
A:
We are planning to start on August 1, 2020.

Q: Will you start with Online classes? If yes, tell us about the platform.
A:
If the situation does not return to normalcy by August 1, 2020, we may start the classes online.

We are yet to decide the platform which we will be using. However, at present for some courses, we are holding online classes through CISCO WebEx.

Q: Tell us about your Pre-MBA Orientation classes…
A:
As a matter of a practice, we conduct almost two weeks of orientation classes on various aspects to prepare the students well before stating the formal classes.

If, it is required, we may think of having Online Orientation Sessions which may cover topics like Case-based teaching, basics of Accounting, basics of Data computation, Personality development, Culture, Ethics etc.

Q: To close, will you like to share any other details with MBA Aspirants?
A:
FORE School of Management has always been sensitive towards students concerns. Our eminent faculty strives to create a learning environment which enables the students to build up their dream career.

Looking at the present situation, students should not panic about the pandemic. Even though it is going to be there for some time with accompanying challenges, we should accept it as the new normal and deal with the situation patiently. Placement 2019 at FORE School of Management successfully concluded in record time with higher salary packages. The B-school in Delhi surpassed its own record in substantial upward swing in highest salary which has gone up to Rs.31 LPA from Rs.21 LPA last year and average salary also going up at Rs.10.8 Lakhs. BFSI sector made the highest offers with 38% of the total offers

The application fee at FORE was Rs.1650/- for one programme, Rs.2500/- for two programmes and Rs.3300/- for three programmes. This application fee was excluding GST and had to be paid online. Programme wise application fee for admission is detailed below:

FORE Admission Eligibility Criteria

  1. The eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA
  2. The candidate should be registered for current CAT/XAT or GMAT (Taken between Jan 1 2018 and January 20, 2020) and must have scored well to become eligible for admission.
  3. If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence to determine PGDM admission eligibility would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by FORE School of Management Delhi by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant by 100 to confirm the Admission eligibility of the candidate. 
  4. A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply for FORE Admission.

How to Apply for Admission?
Application for Admission to PGDM 2020 at FORE School of Management Delhi had to be submitted online. For all the three PGDM programmes, there was one common application form.

Documents Required to Submit FORE Admission Application
Candidates had to keep the following documents ready before filling up the application form

  1. Latest passport size photograph (preferably of size less than 20 kb).
  2. Academic Details (XIIth and Graduation). 
    Please note that it is the responsibility of the candidate to provide accurate information with regard to academic credentials.
  3. Work Experience details.
  4. Details of Credit / Debit Card (Visa/Master) or Net Banking through which payment is to be made.

FORE Shortlisting Criteria
The first part of FORE Admission criteria is the shortlisting criteria before final selection round. FORE School of Management shortlists the candidates on the basis of following parameters:

  • Considers aggregate scores and not sectional scores of the applicants in the acceptable entrance exams for shortlisting.
  • Short-list of the candidates was announced in February 2020 for the final selection round based on their best available test scores in CAT/XAT/GMAT.
  • Applicants could submit more than one entrance test score. The B-school considers the best test score for shortlisting.

  • Post short-listing on the basis of available scores, applicants are called for the final selection round (PI Round)
  • All the shortlisted candidates were eligible to go through the final selection round
  • Final selection was based on CAT/XAT percentile/ GMAT Score, Academic Performance, Work Experience, General and Business Awareness, Written Ability, Extempore and performance in Personal Interview (PI)
  • Final admission offer based on above parameters is given to the candidates

To encourage diversity, a special weightage over and above 100% is offered to students from the North Eastern states, Jammu & Kashmir & South India (Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, & Puducherry).

Application for admission to FORE School of Management could be completed and submitted in four steps:

At the FORE admission application window ‘Apply Now’, you had to login as new user by inserting your Email ID, Password & Mobile Number. Besides, candidate needed to register and apply for at least one of the entrance exams – CAT; XAT; GMAT

The next page on the FORE Admission site needs your personal details which also includes uploading of your scanned coloured photograph, CAT/XAT Registration IDs.

Step 3: Enter Academic Details
Next page on FORE application form required you to fill up all your academic details from class 12 onwards and work experience in months including the name of the organization and designation that you held. The candidate must provide educational qualifications, contact details, and at least one of the following IDs: ID for CAT OR ID for XAT OR ID for GMAT. More than one test IDs can be submitted. The applicant was required to fill the IDs of the test scores he/she wishes to submit.

Step 4: Make Payment of Application Fee
FORE wants you to make payment of application fee after you have completed your application form. This is the final step to fill the application form. You could make payment through Debit/Credit Card (Visa/Master) and Net Banking. On successful online payment an Email will be sent to your registered Email ID confirming receipt of application form and payment.
