Delhi and Kolkata based Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) is first off the block by announcing results of its admission test held on November 25. The shortlist of candidates who go through the next round was declared on December 12.

MBAUniverse.com Aspirants Zone queried official spokesperson at IIFT to know more about the results and the admission process for 2008-10 academic season. Dr L D Mago, Sr. Administrative Officer (Academics), IIFT, answered our queries.  

Q: What is the total number of seats are there for IIFT MBA (IB) program?

A: There are 120 seats in Delhi and 60 seats in Kolkata.  

Q: How many candidates have been short listed for GD/PI stage. Does the shortlist include the candidates for both Delhi & Kolkata Campus? 

A: The short list of 910 candidates include both for Delhi and Kolkata Campus. There is no separate list for Kolkata and Delhi for GD/PI.

Q: How do you select the students for both the campuses?

A: The allocation of the campus i.e. Delhi OR Kolkata is on the basis of relative merit of the candidate in the admission test and the choice of the candidate between the two campuses. The candidate can be considered for either "Delhi Campus" or "Kolkata Campus" or for both.

In the letter that is sent to the candidates inviting them for GD/PI, the candidates are required to fill a CV Form in which they are required to indicate their option and preference of the Campus.

Q: When will the next round (GD/PI) held?

A: GD/PI will be held at seven centres across the country tentatively starting from 28 January to 14 February 2008.

Q: When will the written exam scores be declared?

A: The scores are expected to be released on December 20.  

Q: What is the number of the students who appeared in IIFT 2007?

A: About 47,500 candidates registered for IIFT's entrance test held on November 25, 2007.
