The fee will be increase substantially -- from approximately Rs 2.5 lakhs per annum to Rs 5.50 lakhs for the first year and Rs 6 lakhs for the second year. The decision was taken after the board meeting that took place at IIM A campus on March 29.
In a signed statement issued by Dr Vijaypat Singhania, Chairman, IIM-A Board of Governor & Society said, "The Board of IIM-A reviewed the cost structure of the two year post graduate programme (PGP). After an extensive discussion, the Board unanimously decided to charge a fee of Rs 5.50 lakhs for the first year of the PGP and a fee of Rs 6 lakhs for the second year of the PGP programme for the batch joining in the June 2008."
To counter the massive fee hike, IIM-A has increased its commitment to students from low income groups. IIM A has decided to triple the annual family income limit from Rs 2 lakhs to Rs 6 lakhs for a student eligible for financial support.
