AIMA’s MAT May 2014 scores are accepted in more than 1000 B schools across the country. MAT which is a standardised national level management entrance test has been conducted since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes. MAT score is the criteria in many National and International B schools for admission to MBA/PGDM programmes. Cut offs in various B schools may be lower than last year as seats are still vacant in these B schools and they are offering admission to MBA aspirants on the basis of MAT scores.

What could be the cut off
MAT has a total score of 200 marks but the composite score is 800 marks and the aspirants are provided with the score card out of the composite score of 800. Usually cut off goes high for MAT scorers but for MAT May 2014 takers it appears that it could not remain so high. Cut off is the last percent/percentile of marks below which the B school may not accept admission. MAT May 2014 takers with a score range of 450 to 600 can expect admission in good B school across India.
The good news is that there are still hundreds of B schools where admission to MBA/PGDM programmes for the batch 2014-16 are open including the most sought after Maharashtra B schools. It may not be surprising if you get a very good B school at a score of 500+ in MAT. The key tip is to try now instead of waiting for some other windfall.
