AICTE has extended the last date of  CMAT 2016 registration for another 3 days from December 10 to December 13, 2015. Year 2015 has seen the extension in the last date of registration for all the important MBA entrance exams like CAT 2015; XAT 2016; SNAP 2015 and now CMAT 2016.

AICTE will conduct CMAT 2016 as a computer based test (CBT) on January 17, 2016. AICTE will now conduct only 1 CMAT exam instead of 2 CMAT exams which were used to be held in the months of September and February every year.

CMAT 2016 is the second largest MBA/PGDM entrance test after CAT. After becoming a yearly exam, it is expected that more than 1 lakh test takers would register for CMAT 2016. There are more than 400 B-schools in India where CMAT 2016 scores would be accepted for MBA/PGDM admission 2016.

Since the extended last date of registration for XAT 2016 also closes on December 10, 2015 and after number of candidates approaching MBAUniverse.com during the last 2-3 days that they might not be able to register for CMAT 2016 as it would be difficult for them to adhere to the time line to apply for both the exams, MBAUniverse.com has been pursuing with AICTE so that the candidates could be apprised with the fact. Now the CMAT 2016 aspirants would be able to register and apply for the exam till December 13, 2015.

CMAT 2016 aims to select suitable students for admission in management programmes in 400 B-schools across the country. The on-line Registration for CMAT 2015 is a 3 step process and can be completed in 15 to 20 minutes.

Registration Fee for CMAT 2016
Test fee is included in the registration and application fee for CMAT 2016. For General/OBC Category candidates the registration and test fee is Rs. 1400/- and for SC/ST/PD candidates the test fee is Rs.700/-. This fee is excluding the bank charges, if any.

A candidate can pay the fee on-line through Net banking/Credit/Debit card or can pay cash through challan generated online and cash deposited in any branch of State Bank of  India.  Please remember Fee once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

Documents needed for CMAT Registration
AICTE suggests the candidates to have the following ready before starting the CMAT registration process

-A Computer with good Internet connectivity so that there is no breakage of Internet during registration
-All your qualification details as you need to enter them while registering for CMAT 2016 exam
-You need to upload your scanned photo while registering, hence keep ready a scanned clear photo of yours taken on a white background. The size of this photo should be 140 x 160 (60Kb)
-You need to upload your scanned signature while registering, hence keep ready your scanned clear signature done on a white background. The size of this signature file should be 60 x 90 (30Kb)
-A Valid e-mail id which you will be using at least for the next 6 months. All communication will be done on this e-mail id which you will enter while registering for CMAT exam
-A Valid mobile number as all information via sms will be sent to this number
-A valid Credit / Debit card in case you want to pay ONLINE
-A Printer connected to your system as you will have to PRINT 3 copies of CHALLAN in case you are planning to pay by CASH at the bank

CMAT Registration process
Registration for CMAT 2016 is a 3 step process beginning with filling up personal profile, making the payment and filling up the application form. Please read carefully the undernoted steps while applying for CMAT 2016.

Step-1: Personal details
Read Instructions and Self Registration: First time you will enter as NEW USER. Here you will read the instructions carefully, accept the declaration and proceed. Now you need to proceed for Self Registration. Here you need to enter few basic details. Please ensure you enter the correct details on this Self Registration form and verify it before you click on SUBMIT button on this page. Once you SUBMIT this page, you cannot edit any data entered on this page.

Submitting this page will generate a unique 6 digit password. This password will be shown on your screen and will be sent to you via e-mail and sms.  From now onwards, whenever you wish to login to the registration portal, you will come as an EXISTING USER and login with your e-mail id and this unique 6 digit password. This completes your self registration

Step-2: Make payment
You can opt for either of the following two modes of registration fee payment for CMAT 2016

Online Payment: You can select ONLINE PAYMENT mode and then do the payment using Credit card / Debit card / Net Banking. Once your payment is successfully done, you will receive a confirmation e-mail and sms. Once you have received the successful payment confirmation, you can proceed with the remaining part of registration process for CMAT 2016.

Cash Payment: Candidates can select this option to pay by CASH at any of the designated SBI bank branch only for payment in Rupees  for appearing in test in India. Once you select this option and proceed, you will see a Challan on your screen with your details already filled in it. You need to take 3 print outs of this Challan, fill in the details wherever required in all the copies, and walk in to your nearest SBI bank branch located in India with cash on the next day of generation of Challan. Cash Deposit will be accepted only from the next day of your Challan generation.

Please note that you must deposit cash a few days before the closing date for CMAT 2016 registration as it takes 48 hours to get your payment updated in the registration portal.

In return to the Cash Deposit, the bank will give you one copy of Challan with their stamp and a Journal number written on it. Please ensure the Journal number written is clearly visible before you leave the bank.

After 48 hours from making the cash payment in bank, you will receive an e-mail and SMS confirming that your payment data has got updated in the registration portal. Then you need to re login to the portal proceed with the remaining part of registration process

Step-3: Complete the Application form
 Now that you are done with the payment, you need to fill the remaining part of the form. Once you have filled the complete form, it is suggested that you once again check the complete data entered by clicking on VIEW/MODIFY button. Clicking on VIEW/MODIFY button will allow you to modify your data in case you want to modify on CMAT 2016 registration form.

Once you are sure that all the data entered is accurate, click on Proceed button. There you will have to confirm by ticking a check box that "I have checked all the entries filled in by me and found them correct" and click on SUBMIT. After SUBMIT, you need to accept a declaration and click on I Agree. The system will re-confirm to you for SUBMIT. Once you confirm, your form will get finally SUBMITTED and no change in the data is possible after this SUBMIT

You will see a message on your screen stating “Thank you for successfully registering for the AICTE CMAT January 2016 exam.” Here you can click on PREVIEW button to view your filled form. If you wish, you can PRINT your filled form and keep a copy with you for reference

AICTE earlier provided the candidates 2 opportunities to appear in CMAT for MBA/PGDM admission. The first CMAT was held in September and the second CMAT in February. Now with CMAT changed to be a yearly exercise the opportunity to use better of two scores in CMAT exams will not exist anymore.
