IMC 2014: AIM Manila Dean Dr R Lim to address; Awards nominations open till June 7

Philippine Academy of Management Chairman & the Dean of prestigious Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Manila Dr Ricardo Lim will address the 5th IMC in New Delhi on August 8-9, 2014. The nomination process for IMC Awards 2014 is open till June 7.
Dr Professor Ricardo A. Lim is also the Chairperson of the Philippine Academy of Management. AIM Manila is the first school in Southeast Asia to achieve accreditation from AACSB.

Philippine Academy of Management Chairman & the Dean of prestigious Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Manila Dr Ricardo Lim has joined a formidable panel of global speakers & experts who will be addressing the 5th Indian Management Conclave in New Delhi on August 8-9, 2014. Meanwhile, the nomination process for IMC Awards 2014 is open for B-schools & University participation to till June 7.


The 5th Indian Management Conclave (IMC) will bring the best minds from India and abroad to discuss the conference theme – ‘Envisioning the Future’. The keynote address will be delivered by Management Guru Dr Howard Thomas, Dean, Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University, Singapore.


Dr Professor Ricardo A. Lim, who joins Dr H Thomas as International IMC speaker, is the Dean of the prestigious Asian Institute of Management. Dr Lim is also the Chairperson of the Philippine Academy of Management. AIM Manila is the first school in Southeast Asia to achieve accreditation from AACSB. AIM is also a winner of the 1995 Ramon Magsaysay Award, the Asian equivalent of the Nobel Prize, for promoting international understanding and “setting region-wide standards for excellence.”


IMC 2014 will also be addressed by CEOs & Heads from AACSB International & EFMD Brussels. IMC 2014 will also host many other distinguished speakers from B-schools in US, UK, Canada, China, Singapore, Dubai and many other international MBA education destinations.


IMC Awards Nomination Process is now open

Meanwhile, the nomination process for IMC Awards 2014, to be held in conjunction with IMC Conference 2014 on August 8-9, is now open. Awards will be judged by highly respected MBA educators including Dr Bakul Dholakia, Former Director, IIM Ahmedabad; Dr Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor, NMIMS University and Dr Rishikesha Krishnan, Director, IIM Indore. The nomination process is now open and B-schools can download the Nomination Form from IMC 2014 Website. Last date for nominations is June 7.


 IMC Awards 2014 Themes

The inaugural IMC Awards 2013 received an overwhelming response with 50+ well known B-schools sending their nominations. Union HRD Minister Dr Shashi Tharoor presented IMC Awards 2013 to 10 worthy winners at a glittering ceremony on August 3, 2013 in New Delhi. The IMC Awards 2014 promise to be bigger and better, with greater participation from 100+ B-schools & Universities.


Three contemporary themes have been chosen for inviting nominations. 
Theme 1: Expanding Applicant Pool: Approaches that work 
Theme 2: Rethinking What to teach and How: Innovations in Curriculum & Pedagogy
Theme 3: Deepening Industry-Institute engagement: New models for greater connect

IMC Awards 2014 Jury Members

The Awards will be judged by India’s most respected management educators. Dr Bakul Dholakia, Former Director of IIM Ahmedabad will chair the IMC Awards 2014 Jury. Dr. Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor of NMIMS University, Mumbai and Dr Rishikesha T. Krishnan, Director, Indian Institute of Management – Indore and noted thought-leader on Innovation Management will be part of the Jury.


Much respected for his bold stance on the ‘Autonomy of Higher Education Institutions’, Padma Shri awardee Dr. Bakul Dholakia has been a major motivator and guiding force behind the expansion of activities at IIMA. Dr Bakul Dholakia is currently the Director of Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management, Ahmedabad and Advisor to Adani Group. He has been a Consultant to the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank besides advising various National and International organizations. He has authored numerous books in Business Economics, Corporate Strategy, and Development Economics etc.


Dr. Rajan Saxena is the Vice Chancellor of NMIMS University, Mumbai. He has over 40 years of professional experience in management education, research, consulting and institution building. He is an alumnus of Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi. He did his Ph.D. work at Delhi School of Economics in marketing area. He has taught at XLRI- Jamshedpur, S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai, IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore and NMIMS. He has also taught in University of Calgary , Canada and has been a British Council visitor at the University of Sterling, U.K. where he was involved in the entrepreneurship program. He is a Visiting Professor at Pace University, New York, USA


Dr Rishikesha T. Krishnan is Director and Professor of Strategic Management at the Indian Institute of Management Indore. He is a well known thought-leader in the Innovation area, having several books and papers to his credit. Dr Krishnan was a member of the faculty at the Indian Institute of Management - Bangalore from 1996 to 2013. Dr Krishnan’s books include ‘From Jugaad to Systematic Innovation: The Challenge for India’, and ‘8 Steps to Innovation: Going from Jugaad to Excellence’. Dr Krishnan has served on a number of committees set up by the Government of India, Nasscom and CII related to Innovation in India.
