There are 330+ MMS colleges located across Maharashtra that will offer admission based on MAH CET 2023 exam score. These MMS colleges have to participate in Centralized Admission Process (CAP) conducted by DTE Maharashtra after the result of MAH CET exam is declared. MAH CET MMS 2023 entrance exam dates are March 18 & 19, 2023 and the result is expected on March 31, 2023. The CAP round for final selection in MMS courses will begin in June/July 2023 and will continue for more than a month.
DTE Maharashtra has released a list of the 330+ MMS colleges with total intake of more than 36000 seats in various management programmes offered by them. Some of the top MMS colleges include JBIMS Mumbai, SIMSREE Mumbai, DY Patil Pune among others.
What is MMS?
MMS is the post graduate degree management programme like MBA. MMS stands for Masters in Management Studies. Like MBA it is 2 years full time management degree program duly approved and recognized by UGC/AICTE. MMS is a University Degree programme. An MMS college is affiliated to a university to enable it to confer university degree of Masters in Management Studies. For example, the MMS Programs in the colleges in Mumbai like SIMSREE, DSIMS, Welingkar, K J Somaiya are affiliated to Mumbai University.
MMS Vs MBA: How MMS is different from MBA?
The MMS is very similar to MBA. For example JBIMS is a top MMS college affiliated to Mumbai University while PUMBA – the Pune university department of management is another top MBA college which offers MBA degree, although the admission process in both of them is through DTE CAP.
The MMS curriculum as offered by the MMS College is similar to a regular MBA program. An MMS college specializations like MBA in areas like marketing, systems, HR, operations, and finance, Analytics among others. Universities offering MMS and the colleges offering MMS offer more industry ready courses than the MBA colleges. MMS College Admission Process
The admission in MMS College is offered through DTE CAP. MMS is the 2 years full time MBA programme in MMS colleges in Maharashtra known as Master of Management Studies (MMS). However, all the MMS colleges accepting MAH CET Score will offer MMS programme which is regulated by Government of Maharashtra.
MMS Colleges: Offer Low Fee MMS Programme
Top MMS colleges under MAH CET run the low fee MMS programmes. The MMS fee in all these MMS colleges is decided by the Government agency ‘Shikshan Shulka Samiti.’
Apart from MAH CET score, all the MMS colleges also accept CAT, XAT, CMAT score in admission for All India category candidates. MMS colleges admission and MMS seat allotment is done by DTE Maharashtra through the Centralized Admission process after MAH CET result is declared.

Key points to Remember
- MMS colleges offering AICTE approved PGDM will have higher fee structure for PGDM
- Some of the top MBA/PGDM colleges – namely SPJIMR Mumbai, NMIMS Mumbai, IIM Indore (Navi Mumbai campus); IIT Bombay; NITIE Mumbai do not offer MMS programme nor they accept MAH CET score for admission to any of their MBA/PGDM programmes.
- No CAP round for admission to AICTE approved, institute based PGDM programme will be conducted in the MMS colleges. Admission process will be finalized at the institute level.
- It may be noted that the MMS colleges with multiple system of seat allocation apart from DTE CAP seats, for example- Institute level, minority and other seats may fill their institute level seats with other exam scores also with the directive from Government of Maharashtra.
- For PGDM and other AICTE approved management programmes, the institutes are not bound to participate in DTE CAP and can conduct their own admission process and accept other exam scores, apart from MAH CET, CAT and CMAT.
