IIM Lucknow PGPSM 2017-19: WAT and PI process command 50% weight in admission; prepare well
Shortlisted candidates for PGPSM 2017-19 who are going through the final admission round have to attend the Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) round
IIM Lucknows Postgraduate Programme in Sustainable management (PGPSM) endevours to produce experts to fill the gap of sustainability issues in industry. PGPSM is a 2 years full time residential programme being offered at Noida campus of IIM Lucknow. The programme is designed to help managers to develop an ethos of environment and social responsibility and equip them with holistic skills to handle varied sustainability challenges.
IIM Lucknow has already declared the shortlist for its management programmes Postgraduate Programme in Sustainable Management (PGPSM). The shortlisted candidates for PGPSM 2017-19 who are going through the final admission round have to attend the Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) round on the similar lines as they attend for the regular PGP at IIM Lucknow.
PGPSM is one of the important management programmes of IIM Lucknow and is conducted at its Noida campus. The programme is only 2 years old and was launched in 2015. Due to its multi facet approach and great learning, the programme has tremendously captured the attention of corporate and industry which is passing through various Sustainability issues impacting its decision making.
In fact, Sustainability agenda has received a major push because of voluntary norms and proactive steps taken by some industry associations. Businesses are increasingly aligning their vision and strategies with national and global Sustainable Development objectives. The PGPSM empowers the candidates with the right decision making perspective in view of the various Sustainability issues being faced by corporate and industry.
Public awareness about environmental degradation, global warming, climate change, and socio-economic implications of corporate action has increased remarkably in recent times. This has radically transformed business paradigms around the world. The Sustainability agenda has received a major push because of voluntary norms and proactive steps taken by some industry associations. Businesses are increasingly aligning their vision and strategies with national and global Sustainable Development objectives. Big companies have divisions like sustainability, environment, climate change, energy, green products and those in the social sector need the MBAs who are well versed with Sustainability issues.
Recognizing the future requirement of MBAs, IIM Lucknow launched the PGPSM for working executives.
Admission Process
PGPSM 2017-19: Shortlist on CAT 2016 scores
The minimum required CAT 2016 percentile for 1st stage shortlisting for PGPSM 2017-19 batch is 85 overall and 80 in each section.
Those who wished to join PGPSM 2017-19 at IIM Lucknow had to upload the Special Form for PGPSM latest by 5th February 2017.
Only those who have 2 years of work experience are eligible to apply for IIM Lucknow PGPSM programme and the option should be exercised at the time of completing the CAT registration form.
WAT & Personal Interview for PGPSM: 50% weightage
Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal round (PI) are the 2 components of PI round for PGPSM 2017-19 batch. The process has already started on February 9. According to Prof Sushil Kumar Programme Head, PGPSM at IIM Lucknow There are two components - Written Ability Test - candidates are required to write on a given topic for 15 minutes and Personal Interview for about 12-15 minutes
As per the IIM Lucknow Admission policy for PGPSM, WAT and PI both are the high weightage components to get the admission offer from IIM Lucknow in PGPSM 2017-19. On a scale of 100, WAT and PI command 50% weightage in final selection round.
A candidates final score for selection in PGP-SM programme for the batch 201719 will be calculated on the basis of the assigned weights as given below-

The minimum requirement for getting a pass in Personal Interviews is 12 out of 40 marks. Names of candidates who do not pass in PI will not be included in the final merit list.
