FMS final admission round: Rigorous but friendly
‘FMS’, according to Dr Singla ‘is a friendly but disciplined campus’ and the Personal Interview process at FMS is relaxed, short and easy going. The members in the interview panel mostly behave in an informal manner.

Right from the beginning of the MBA admission process, Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi adopts rigorous criteria that aim to select and groom the candidates who can become worthy of Corporate & industrial expectations in the rising MBA market and can prove their potential to grab higher placement packages and still remain socially concerned.

Emphasizing his point, Dr Singla, Dean FMS Delhi says “The average salary of the Graduates of FMS this year is INR 20 lakh plus. PI process is what it should be selecting such people.”

FMS Admission Criteria changed as per demand of Corporate sector
FMS has changed the criteria to shortlist candidates for PI round to improve academic diversity and to meet the demand of recruiting industry. The changes according to Dr M L Singla, Dean FMS Delhi, are “primarily done to ensure diversity of the Academic Disciplines as is the demand of recruiting industry too. This will help candidates have a balance of intellectual quotient and communication dexterity.”

With the modified shortlisiting process that has awarded different weightage to CAT 2016 sectional scores, there are many 99 percentilers who have not been shortlisted by FMS Delhi while many low percentilers with balanced high sectional percentile have been shortlisted for PI round.

Key components of FMS - PI round
The 2 components of Personal Interview round at Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi are – a brief extempore speech of 2-3 minutes which will have a weightage of 5% followed by Personal interview of 15-20 minutes which will have a weightage of 10%.

Confirming the weightage to both the components of PI round, Dr Singla shares, “The decision of the Admission Committee is final in this respect. However, in the previous years, Extempore Speech (5%) and PI (10%) have been the components of overall merit computation of candidates. The CAT Score was given a weightage of 85%.”

The 15% weightage to Extempore & Personal Interview can turn the table in your favour in the final admission round of MBA 2017-19 batch at FMS Delhi, if you are one of the sought after candidates and are seriously preparing to ace the PI process beginning on April 10 at North campus of Delhi University.

All the shortlisted candidates of FMS Delhi will have to appear at the designated date and reporting time for final admission round at the North Campus of University of Delhi from April 10 to 17, 2017.
