IIM Calcutta final Placement 2018: Consulting claims 27% share; process over in 2 days

IIM Calcutta has concluded its final placement 2018 in just two days with 481 offers, achieving yet again 100% placement from top recruiters. Consulting sector has claimed 27% share in placement 2018 with Accenture emerging as top recruiter. This year IIM Calcutta has not yet disclosed the average salary, median salary of the highest salary for the batch. 

131 companies participated in Placement 2018 making 481 offers. Out of them 50% came from Consulting and finance while Consulting along constituted for 27% share in placement.

IIM Calcutta has refrained from sharing the salary statistics for the Placement 2018. However, sources have shared that a good volume in average salary has been recorded in IIM Calcutta Placement 2018.

The highest international package in 2017 amounted to $130,000 per annum (Rs.87 lakhs) , while the average salary in international placement in 2016 stood at Rs. 29.5 lakhs ($43936)

 although for Placement 2018 IIM Calcutta has not yet placed the salary data in public domain.

IIM Calcutta has shared the top recruiters and among them Accenture strategy tops the list. Other top recruiters in Placement 2018 are  J P Morgan & Co, Bank of America, Amazon, Aditya Birla Group, Star, EXL, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Bessemer Venture Partners, Goldman Sachs and CitiBank, Bessemer Venture Partners,  Flipkart, Microsoft, Uber 

Sector wise Placement

Consulting: 27% placement offers
Consulting sector emerged as the 2nd highest recruiter contributing to 27% of the total offers made. Top recruiters in this sector were Accenture, AT Kearney, Bain, BCG, McKinsey.

Finance campus of Asia: 23% offers
Finance sector continued to churn out a high number of offers strengthening the image of IIM Calcutta as the Finance campus of Asia. 23% of the total offers were made in this sector by top recruiters like J P Morgan & Co, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Bessemer Venture Partners, Goldman Sachs and CitiBank. 

Other key sectors which contributed substantially in placement are Marketing (16%), General Management (14%), Product Management and Operations (12%) and IT and Analytics (8%). 

First time recruiter at IIM Calcutta in Placement 2018 included Bessemer Venture Partners, the oldest venture capital firm in the United States of America.
