IIM Calcutta, the CAT 2018 convener, has asked the MBA colleges in the Non IIM category to register by July 25, 2018, if they wish to accept CAT 2018 exam score for MBA/PGDM admission 2019.
Releasing the Notification for CAT 2018 Registration by Non-IIM Institutions, IIM Calcutta has clarified, “Non-IIM Institutions interested to avail CAT 2018 scores for admitting students to their Post Graduate Programme for 2019-2021 Batch are requested to download the MOU and Application Form.” The Memorandum of Understanding and the Application form can be downloaded from the given links on IIM Calcutta- CAT 2018 website. It is expected that IIM Calcutta will release the CAT 2018 Notification on July 28-29, 2018 for the CAT aspirants.
IIMs Vs Non-IIMs: CAT Registration Requirement
Common Admission Test (CAT) is the gateway to 20 IIMs in the country. Apart from the Indian Institutes of Management, CAT exam scores are also accepted by other top MBA colleges in the category of Non-IIMs like FMS Delhi, SPJIMR Mumbai, MDI Gurgaon, IMI New Delhi, IMT Ghaziabad, MBA Departments of IIT Delhi, Mumbai, Madras, Kharagpur, JBIMS Mumbai, SIMSREE Mumbai, PUMBA Pune, NITIE Mumbai, TAPMI Manipal, XIM Bhubaneswar and more than 3000 MBA colleges in India.
IIMs: IIMs are the member institutes who conduct and accept CAT scores by default and do not need any Institutional registration for CAT.
Non-IIMs: All the Non-IIMs whether Government or Private University Department; university affiliated college; Autonomous MBA college; Private PGDM college, they have to sign the MoU to accept CAT score and have to pay the requisite Institutional CAT Registration fee to IIMs.
4 Step CAT 2018 Registration Process by Non-IIMs: Last Date-July 25
Non-IIMs can complete their CAT 2018 registration in 4 steps. Following steps are required to be completed before July 25, 2018 to obtain CAT 2018 Non-IIM Membership for use of CAT scores by Non-IIM Institutions
Step-1: Download the CAT 2018 MOU Document and the Application Form from IIM Calcutta website
Step 2: Make payment of annual fees. To know the Mode of Payment – Please refer to Point Nos 11, 12 and 13 in the MOU for details.
Step 3: Non-IIMs should fill up the Application Form and MOU and send the scanned copies duly filled-in, signed and stamped along with the required enclosures as mentioned inside the application form by email. The Programme Brochure can be sent separately along with other hard copies.
Step 4 : Please send duly filled-in, signed and stamped MOU (two copies), Application Form (single copy) in original and other supporting documents (hard copies) as specified in MOU and Application Form to Admissions Office of IIM Calcutta latest by July 25, 2018 at the CAT Centre, C/o Admissions Office, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Diamond Harbour Road, Kolkata 700 104
List of Non-IIMs Registered for CAT
IIM Calcutta has released a list of 113 Non-IIMs that registered last year for CAT. Surprisingly there are hundreds of top MBA colleges who despite accepting CAT exam score are not included in the list of Non-IIMs who had registered for CAT. Some of the top MBA colleges omitted in the list are JBIMS Mumbai, SIMSREE Mumbai, PUMBA Pune and many others.

CAT 2018 is being conducted by IIM Calcutta on November 25, 2018 in two separate sessions. Candidates registering for CAT exam have been on the rise and during last 3-4 years, CAT registrations have gone upto 2.32 lakhs from 1.95 lakhs.
