Dr Rajan Saxena takes over as Officiating Vice Chancellor of NMIMS University

Dr. Rajan Saxena, Senior Advisor to Chancellor & Distinguished Professor Marketing has taken over the charge as Officiating Vice Chancellor of the NMIMS University.

Dr N M Kondap has successfully completed his tenure as Vice Chancellor of SVKMs NMIMS University on 15th January 2009. Dr. Rajan Saxena is the former Director of IIM, Indore, S.P.Jain Institute of Management and Research and Dean of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai.

Dr Rajan has taught at XLRI- Jamshedpur, S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai, IIM Calcutta and NMIMS and IIM Indore. He has also taught in University of Calgary, Canada and has been a British Council visitor at the University of Sterling, U.K. where he also taught in the entrepreneurship program. He is a Visiting Professor at Pace University, NY.

Dr Rajan has over 35 years of professional experience in management education, research , consulting and institution building . He is an alumnus of Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi, from where he did his Bachelor and Masters program in commerce. He did his Ph.D. work at Delhi School of Economics in marketing area and was awarded the degree by Delhi University.

Dr. Saxena provided leadership to IIM Indore. Dr. Saxena also played a significant role in creating a distinctive image for NMIMS, Mumbai between 1984 to 1999. Dr.Saxenas teaching & research interests are, Marketing Strategy, Services Marketing & Customer Relationship Management.

Dr. Saxena is a respected marketing educator and consultant. He has consulted over 50 Indian and multinational companies. Some of his well known clients are BSES (Now Reliance Energy), HDFC, MTNL Mumbai, Agrevo (formerly the agro chemical division of Hoechst and now taken over by Bayer), L&T, Parle Exports, Jindal Steel, Ispat etc. He has published 60 articles in Indian and Foreign journals . His book titled Marketing Management by Tata McGraw- Hill is today in the 3rd edition and is one of the widely used text in marketing in Indian Business Schools.
