Govt sets up Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, has established Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) to assist the Ministry in designing legislative/regulatory framework for the corporate sector.

IICA, a research-based think-tank and capacity building centre, has been set up to serve the interests of several stakeholders in entrepreneurship development while focusing on corporate governance and business growth.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs had invited applications for the posts of one Director, two Deputy Directors, one Accounts Officer, one Accountant, three Consultants (Associate Professor), three Research Associates, one Executive Engineer, one Asst. Civil Engineer and one Asst. Electrical Engineer in December 2008. The invitations to fill up all the above-mentioned posts have been sent to all secretaries to Govt. of India, all ministries and Govt. departments, all chief secretaries of state governments, all registrar/director/dean of IIMs, IITs, and many other reputed universities and institutes across the country.

According to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the appointments will be made on deputation basis, initially for a period of two years and extendable by another year. The terms of deputation will be governed by the rules of the Government of India, subjected to the amendment from time to time.In the ever-changing world of business, yesterdays regulations and policies cannot drive tomorrows growth. The establishment of a core team of professionals at IICA will help in leading the way with path-breaking initiatives for corporate reforms, good governance and enlightened regulation. It will promote and facilitate corporate functioning and ensure investor awareness and protection, says the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
