ISB to double its permanent faculty
Hyderabad based Indian School of Business (ISB) is keen to increase its permanent faculty strength to cater to rising number of students and new offerings.
ISB dean Dr Rammohan Rao shared this resolve on the eve of its graduation day.
ISB currently has a student intake of 418 students for all its programmes and plans to hike it to 560 students in the next three years. The institute is also planning to add two new centres of excellence in the Strategic Marketing and Leadership & Change Management areas. These two centers will be in addition to the existing centers in analytical finance, global logistics and manufacturing strategies, IT and networked economy, Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurial Development.
To support these expansions, the institute is on a lookout to hire faculty from India and visiting professors from abroad.
Currently, ISB has around 23 full-time faculty members. The institute is planning to take the number to 40 faculty members in the next two years. The institute is looking at academicians with specialised domain knowledge to teach and also lead two new centres of excellence being planned this year, said Dr Rammohan Rao.
According to ISB, for the academic year 2006-2007, the institute had 100 visiting faculty from international schools visiting the Hyderabad based campus and taking classes. The institution relies primarily on the visiting faculties from leading international B-schools including its partner schools: Kellogg School of Management, Wharton School of Management and London Business School.
