S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) announced that number of applications for their flagships two year PGDM program have jumped 25 per cent as compared to last year.
The SPJIMR’s PGDM online application process for 240 seats was launched on September 15 and is scheduled to close on November 18. The interview process will begin in January 2014.
Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay, Deputy Director, PGDM at SPJIMR Mumbai said “The improved numbers of applicants reflect the fact that the acceptance of the SPJIMR PGDM program has gone up with the applicants based on the industry acceptance of our graduates.”
According to him it has been noticed that there is also a healthy mix of engineers and non-engineers seen in the applications, with about 20-25 per cent of the applicants being non engineers at this stage in the process. The SPJIMR PGDM program has been noted for the diversity it brings to the classroom with a good mix of students from varied backgrounds.
He also said that Interviews are critical for aspirants and an early interview marks a major shift in the way interviews for MBA program are being conducted. This provides ample opportunity for the School and the students to assess each other.
