Updated on January 28, 2014
This article gives three key advices to all the candidates who have scored less than 70 percentile in CAT 2013 entrance exams.
Candidates with low percentile but with good academic background could convert the call to a very good B school

Candidates who couldn’t score a high percentile in CAT/XAT this year should not lose heart as they may find good B schools fulfilling their dreams. But sometimes we miss while living in the myth that admission would be offered only to 90+ percentilers.

MBAUniverse.com has made a wide survey of B schools and the results of this research are very much encouraging especially for those who scored less say between 60 to 70 percentile or even less than 60. These institutes are good, have good placement record, have good faculty as well as good infrastructure.

Admission 2014: What do the institutes expect from applicants?

A little less percentile will not matter much if you have following merits and have been an all round good performer in academics, sports and other extracurricular activities. It has been observed that candidates with as low a percentile as 55 with good academic background could convert the call to a very good B school than a candidate with a percentile of 75-80.

Another important aspect that these b schools expect from the aspirants is that they should have clarity of thought, good knowledge base with good communication skill. It implies that they are supposed to perform well in the GDPIWAT round of admission. It will enhance the chances of admission to highly ranked say around 25th rank or so, management colleges.

Options for 70-90 listed earlier

MBAUniverse.com has shortlisted 10 good B schools for the candidates who have missed the opportunity to apply in other good management institutions like MDI, FORE, XIMB, SPJIMR as the last date slipped them. These institutes are available all across the country and at your preferred location as well. The suggestion is to act fast and apply immediately as they are also closing their application date for admission 2014.
