AACSB to hold its flagship annual conference ICAM in Singapore
AACSB will hold its flagship annual conference International Conference and Annual Meeting (ICAM) in Singapore on April 7-9, 2014
For the first time in its history, the globally-respected accreditation body, AACSB International is getting ready to host its International Conference and Annual Meeting (ICAM) in Singapore on April 7-9, 2014. More than 1,100 deans, directors, presidents, provosts, and faculty members from more than 50 countries are expected to attend the forum. Vineet Nayar, former vice-chairman of HCL Technologies, Rachel Botsman, a well-known thought leader on the collaboration economy, and Magnus Bocker, CEO of Singapore Exchange are featured plenary speakers.
Aligning with the 2013 accreditation standards, ICAMs program tracks address innovation, engagement, and impactwith a special focus on business school efforts towards accreditation, sustainability and social impact, and collaborations worldwide.
Deans and a whos who of global management education, from leading b-schools like IMD, ESADE, HEC, Cornell University, will be speaking at ICAM. The speakers represent almost every continent in the world and come from diverse backgrounds with a variety of experiences. Several members of AACSBs senior staff will also be addressing the audience, including John Fernandes, President and CEO; Michael D. Wiemer, Vice President, Outreach; Eileen Peacock, Senior Vice President and Chief Officer Asia; and Robert D. Reid, Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer.
Representing India at the meeting, Sivakumar Alur, Professor, TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) will be the speaking on the theme of Assurance of Learning (AoL). TAPMI is one of only two b-schools that have earned the coveted AACSB Accreditation in India.
Talking about the rationale & significance of holding this conference in Singapore, Dan LeClair, EVP and Chief Operating Officer, AACSB International said, AACSBs ICAM is the largest annual gathering of business school leaders in the world. The 3 day conference offers a large number of sessions covering the three tracks: Innovation, Engagement, and Impact.
The Innovation track will feature sessions including: - Curricular Innovation - Redefining graduate business programs - Developing Social Entrepreneurs - Business Model Innovation - Re-thinking financially sustainable business school strategies - New Technologies and the Impact on the B-School
The Engagement track will feature sessions focused on: - Developing Effective Global Partnerships for Competitive Advantage - Experiential Learning: Engaging practice in learning - Emerging Faculty Models - Growing Executive Education
The Impact track will feature sessions addressing: - Advancing Management Education in Emerging Economies - Learning from the Social Responsibility Strategies of B-schools in Two Different National Contexts - AoL for Quality Improvement and Accountability - Beyond Counting - Making an Impact with Intellectual Contributions
ICAM 2014 will also host many Affinity Group Meetingson specific themes where participants can discuss and network with their peers. Affinity group meetings include Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), Technology in Business Schools, Asia Pacific Affinity Group, Entrepreneurship Programs, and MBA for Working Professionals.
