Twenty three year old Grenoble Ecole de Management from France is keen to expand its presence in the fast paced Indian management education market.

The institute is eyeing to forge academic alliances with premier management institutes, offer executive education to Indian corporates and attract Indian students for its course.

Speaking to MBAUniverse.com, newly appointed Director for International Affairs at Grenoble Ecole de Management, Mr Mark Thomas said, In India we are keen to develop more partnerships with Indian institutions to continue delivering its programs and expertise in India, notably in the Executive Education arena.

The French school currently has five academic partnerships in India with Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Institute of Management Technology (IMT), International Management Institute (IMI), Institute for Integrated Learning in Management (IILM) and more recently Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B).

In addition to partnerships, institute is also looking at attracting Indian students to their campus. Said Mr Thomas, We want to strengthen our relation in India by a attracting Indian students. Currently we have about 25 Indian students at Grenoble Ecole de Management. He added, We are also sending our students in India to get experience and understand the Indian market.

In July 2006, the school established an office in New Delhi to manage the several projects it is currently involved in.

Grenoble Ecole de Management collaborations with IIM-B, IMT and others in India involve student and faculty exchanges and joint development in Executive Education. Students from the French Grande Ecole program at Grenoble Ecole de Management have the opportunity to study for six months or up to a year in India while their Indian counterparts can go and experience student life in Grenoble, informs the institution.

Upbeat about its appeal to Indian students, Mr Thomas said, With courses delivered in English, competitive fees, and numerous scholarships the school is also certain to remain an appealing option and attract more Indian students to Grenoble.

Grenoble Ecole de Management was established in 1984. It is one of the few business schools worldwide to have triple accreditation from EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA. Grenoble Ecole de Management is organized into three schools: Grenoble Graduate School of Business (GGSB), the international school which delivers all international programs in English; Ecole Suprieur de Commerce (ESC Grenoble) The French Grande Ecole school of management and Ecole de Management des Systmes dinformation (EMSI) a Information Systems Management school.

The institute is based in Grenoble which is described as the Alpine Silicon Valley of Europe. Grenoble is a center of high-tech activity. The region is home to a network of technology organizations, including major research centres and IT companies.
