Much awaited Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2014 for admission to MBA/MMS/PGDM programmes post MAHCET examination will begin on May 12, 2014 for admission to B schools across Maharashtra. Fate of 49K+ hopeful admission seekers is at stake. While DTE Maharashtra is all set to conduct the operation CAP, candidates are exploring the admission opportunities in top rated b schools like JBIMS, SIMSREE, K J Somaiya, N L Dalmiya, Dugra Devi Saraf, IESMCRC, Chethna, Kohinoor, PUMBA, Singhad, DY Patil, SIES.

Q. 1. Does CAP contain counselling process or it has other components?
Centralized Admission Process (CAP) to be conducted by DTE Maharashtra is the final admission round for different B schools in Maharashtra. CAP would contain the GDPI part also alongwith document verification. Final allotment of seats will be based on CAP.
Q.2. Will there be common CAP for Maharashtra state (MS) and Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates?
Since separate merit lists have been prepared for MS and OMS candidates, CAP rounds will be different according to merit status in both categories.
Q.3. How many rounds of CAP will be conducted for admission?
There will be 4 rounds of Centralized Admission process. While in the first 3 rounds of CAP eligible candidates will fill separate option forms for respective rounds, 4th round of CAP shall be conducted by way of counselling only for the eligible Maharashtra State Candidates.
Q.4. I am an OMS candidate and scored 122 in MAHCET 2014. What are my chances of allotment of seat in CAP to JBIMS or other top B school?
Assuming that you are a General category candidate, you may not get JBIMS, SIMSREE, KJ Somaiya. You may however be considered for N L Dalmiya, Durga Devi Saraf, PUMBA, DY Patil, SIES, IESMCRC, Chethna, Singhad.
Q.5. Where do I find Annexure I as I couldnt find it anywhere. Why it is so important?
Annexure I lies on DTE Maharashtra site. It details the Procedurefor Registration for CAP, instructions for filling up the online form and Document Verification/Confirmation. Without going through it, it is not possible to understand the process.
Q.6. What are the various documents required during CAP and at the time of admission?
Annexure II has the details of documents required for CAP and at the time of admission to the allotted B school. You are advised to carry the same alongwith their copies.

Q.7. I am an OMS and J&K migrant candidate. What are my chances of allotment of seats in Maharashtra B schools?
Provision of 1 seat over and above the sanctioned intake capacity in each management institute covered under the CAP is made for J&K Migrant candidates. For example 400 b schools associated to CAP are supposed to have 400 seats in this category.
Q.8. I am an MS candidate, in case I am not able to submit my candidature type form, will there be any problem?
Yes. DTE Maharashtra has categorically specified that Candidateclaiming the candidature as Maharashtra type A/B/C/D and fails to submit the required documents, such candidates will be converted to All India Candidates and will be given the benefit of All India Seats only. So with non submission of documents, you will be left with 35% and 15% seats reserved for All India candidates in Government, government aided and private colleges respectively.
Q.9. I scored 28 percentile and am OMS candidate. Will I be considered for CAP? Shall I get admission in some good b school in Maharashtra?
Yes, you will be able to participate in CAP if you have completed the formalities. Admission to a very good B school may be difficult but still you are expected to be allotted a seat in B school in Maharashtra.
Q. 10. When do I expect the allotment of seat and the B school to be finalised by DTE Maharashtra? What do I have to do after the allotment?
DTE Maharashtra will display the provisional merit lists for Maharashtra state as well as outside Maharashtra state candidates on May 26, 2014. The final merit list will be available on June 2, 2014.
