It has been 60 years for XLRI, conducting yearly XAT in a conventional paper pencil based pattern. The aim to continue the similar approach, according to Dr Thakur is ‘XAT ensures that all the candidates from varying backgrounds are at par. We believe that single testing session with same difficulty level will provide level playing field to all the test takers without any discrimination.    XAT is aimed to select the most appropriate candidates who wish to pursue management education.  Around 90 thousand to 1 lakh candidates explore admission opportunities in XLRI and other member and affiliated B schools by registering for XAT every year.

How XAT 2015 remains aspirant friendly
In view of XAT preparation expert Prof S K Agarwal, aspirants who have registered and wish to appear in XAT 2015 are expected to find the examination more appealing and in line with their preparation methodology.  Candidates do not have to fight with technical snags and glitches which is a property of computer based on line test.  http://www.mbauniverse.com/article/id/7887/XAT-2015
XAT 2015 examination topics, type and composition of questions especially in Verbal Ability according to Prof S K Agarwal, expert on Verbal Ability preparation, are differently presented and the candidates have to prepare accordingly.

There are more questions on error corrections and core grammar usage in XAT. Jumbled paragraphs are not so long as in CAT but there is more number of short RC passages having a length of around 500 words. The passages are followed by more number of questions. Questions on use of phrases, idioms, figures of speech  are more prominent in XAT.  Prof Agarwal suggests that XAT aspirants should strengthen their fundamentals further.

Good writing practice: need for XAT 2015
There is a full length 20-30 minutes Essay Writing Test in XAT and those having poor writing skills should be on their guard. In view of Prof S K Agarwal, Verbal Ability expert, apart from good subject knowledge, aspirants are supposed to have a flair for writing which should be neat also. So choose the current, abstract, national, international, business, economics topics and start writing an essay of  approximately 300-400 words with rich in contents.

This writing piece should have logical and coherent flow of ideas with one idea in one paragraph. http://www.mbauniverse.com/article/id/7881/XAT-2015

Calculation of Percentile
XAT has sectional cut-offs like other import MBA/PGDM entrance tests. The difference, however, lies in acceptance of lower marks in some section by the institutes associated to XAT.
However, XAT scores, despite having sectional cut-off leave its General Awareness and Essay Writing Part, out of the purview of percentile calculation.  A few of the prestigious B-schools like XLRI use the General awareness test before finalising their admissions.

XAT 2015 aspirants should accordingly prepare and practice more to crack XAT 2015
