CAT 2014 New Exam Pattern: Live on Oct 28, 2014; familiarize with new pattern and questions

After a long wait by CAT 2014 aspirants, the CAT 2014 Centre has announced Facility to experience the CAT 2014 computer based examination will be available on the CAT website from 28th Oct 1.00 P.M onwards. Kindly note this is a mock online exam for demonstration purpose only. CAT 2014 aspirants have been waiting for this demo test since the opening of the CAT 2014 registration process. Thousands of CAT 2014 aspirants have been approaching MBAUniverse.com regarding the delay in making live the practice Test. Carrying forward their worries we have been conveying the concerns to CAT conducting IIM and the CAT Centre 2014.
CAT in earlier years used to make live the practice tests on the site along with the opening of registration process. The need was felt more since number of changes in exam pattern has been made in CAT 2014. Earlier it was promised that the CAT 2014 practice test would be available in the middle of October 2014, the wait for the practice test will however be over on Oct 28, 2014 after 1 PM when candidates will be able to go through the details of the much awaited demo test for CAT 2014.
CAT 2014: Test Duration and Pattern
CAT Centre 2014 has announced The test duration is for a total time of 2 hours and 50 minutes (170 minutes). PWD/DA candidates with scribe requirements will be allowed an extra hour.
According to the instructions issued by CAT Centre 2014 all candidates will start the test at the same time when the invigilator signals to start. Candidates are to remain at their seats for the entire duration of the test even if they complete their test early. The Submit button will be enabled only upon completion of test time.
The medium of the test is in English language for all candidates. The test has 100 multiple choice questions across two sections.
CAT 2014 allows toggling between the sections
Unlike earlier CAT exams, CAT 2014 will have the facility for the candidates to attempt any section first. Candidates will be allowed to toggle between the two sections and attempt any question. There will an on-screen timer that will mark remaining minutes for the test. The advisory from CAT centre 2014 is If you do not understand a question on the test, you should answer the question to the best of your ability.
4 coloured question palette
CAT 2014 will have 4 coloured question status panel. The Question Palette panel on the right-hand side of the computer screen will display the status of an aspirants questions in four colours. The 4 colours will indicate the following status
