Making it official now, while announcing the Admission policy for the proposed new IIM Bihar, mentor IIM Calcutta has renamed it as IIM Bodh Gaya which is going to launch operation sometime in  August, 2015. Emphasizing on the relevance of IIM Bodh Gaya maiden PGP 2015-17 batch admission policy document released by the mentor IIM Calcutta, the statement reads This document was released by Chairman, Admissions, IIM Calcutta (mentor institute for IIM Bodh Gaya), on behalf of the Indian Institute of Management Bodh-Gaya. This is applicable only to the PGP selection process for 2015-17 of IIM Bodh Gaya.

IIM Calcutta is the mentor institute for IIM Bodh Gaya and the maiden PGP batch 2015-17 of IIM Bodh Gaya is proposed to be launched at the campus of Magadh University in Bodh Gaya with 60 students although MHRD has proposed the strength for first PGP 2015-17 batch at 140 students.

To begin the admission process and make the IIM Bodh Gaya launch the maiden PGP programme in academic session 2015-16, the mentor IIM Calcutta has announced the Admission Policy for IIM Bodh Gaya.

High Sectional & Overall scores in CAT 2014 required
According to the Admission Policy announced for IIM Bodh Gaya, following shortlisting criteria have been devised by the mentor IIM Calcutta calling for high sectional and overall percentile scores in CAT 2014. No communication is proposed to be sent toCandidates not meeting the eligibility criteria for IIM Bodh Gaya.

IIM Bodh Gaya also specifies that eligible candidates who have not reconfirmed their interest in admission to IIM Bihar by June 28, 2015, shall be excluded from being considered for admission to IIM Bodh Gaya for the 2015-17 batch. Since the name of IIM Bihar has been changed as IIM Bodh Gaya after the decision of Cabinet committee meeting held on June 24, 2015, the confirmation of interest was supposed to be submitted for IIM Bihar till then.

Personal Interview (PI) and Written Aptitude Test (WAT)
IIM Bodh Gaya proposes to conduct PI and WAT round for the candidates whose PI and WAT scores are not available with IIM Bodh Gaya and all such candidates would be called for PI and WAT at IIM Calcutta re-confirmed their interest to join IIM Bihar, satisfy the above eligibility criteria and. These candidates would receive an email invitation for appearing in PI and WAT.

In fact PI scores and WAT scores of most of the candidates are already available with IIM Bodh-Gaya for the candidates interviewed by some other IIMs. These candidates would NOT be interviewed again. Their PI and WAT scores would be used as an input to the admission process of IIM Bodh Gaya.

Final Selection at IIM Bodh Gaya for PGP 2015-17
The Composite Score for final selection at IIM Bodh Gaya will be calculated on the basis of CAT 2014 score, WAT score, PI score, Work Experience, Class X and Class XII aggregate percentages, and gender diversity factor.

A candidates final score for selection to PGP 2015-17 batch at IIM Bodh Gaya will be calculated on the basis of following weights assigned to different components mentioned against them

For work experience, a maximum of Eight points will be awarded depending on the length of service as on May 31, 2015.  Only managerial work experience after graduation will be considered. Training/Project work/work done as an integral part of curricular requirement will not be considered.

IIM Calcutta will mentor all activities at IIM Bodh Gaya in Bihar till it moves to its permanent campus (about 3 years later), and IIM Bodh Gaya is able to handle these activities entirely on its own. During the mentorship period and while IIM Bodh Gayas own faculty are recruited, faculty members from IIM Calcutta will be delivering courses at IIM Bihar. This may include a few visiting faculty selected by IIM Calcutta to meet their exacting standards. The overall design, quality and delivery of PGP will be to the standards and with direct involvement of IIM Calcutta. Candidates going to join IIM Bodh Gaya may expect to see some of the best faculty members from IIM Calcutta in their class rooms.
