FMS Delhi MBA 2016: Will the B school offer admission to 487 waitlisted candidates? Know from the Dean

Out of 487 waitlisted candidates for admission to MBA 2016-18, the big question is how many can be accommodated by FMS Delhi. Should the waiting candidates still have hope to get admission offer from this highly ranked B-school or try their luck elsewhere? Will the fat waitlist with 249 General category candidates and 110 OBC candidates get slimmed once the admission process for the provisionally selected candidates is finalized?

Pretty good chances-Shares the Dean
Yes, shares Dr M L Singla Dean FMS Delhi that number of the waitlisted candidates stand pretty good admission chances at FMS Delhi but all depends on the fact where you stand in the waitlist as it has been prepared in order of merit.
Responding to the MBAUniverse.com query what could be the expected number of candidates who may be offered admission out of the waitlist as the waitlist is longer than that of last year whereas the intake is the same, Dr M L Singla Dean FMS Delhi assures This is an attempt to maintain transparency to the possible extent. In the previous years also since we share an overlap with the admission lists of other ranked institutions, churn is definite to happen, primarily because of individual preferences and perceptions. FMS is ready for it by displaying a longer waiting list.

As much as in main list may climb up
Sharing with MBAUniverse.com about the candidates requirement and expectations and the past experience regarding the upgradation of candidates to the main list, Dr M L Singla further informs In various categories, we have experienced varying numbers of candidates moving up in the waiting list. We are expecting as much as the main list to be climbing up from the waiting lists, but there is no certainty about the same. But once the waiting list has been prepared, candidates are at least aware of their relative position and also the chances. For candidates paying up at various places, it is an expensive proposition. FMS is sensitive to that requirement of the candidates.

Required Documents: Keep ready
