The MAT score accepting MBA/PGDM B schools might be offering admission in 2016 at slightly different MAT score cut offs than they offered earlier
Going by the past trend and as MAT 2016 May exam had no substantial change in difficulty level, you may score high as the paper based MAT 2016 May exam was moderate and was without surprise element. The MAT score accepting MBA/PGDM B-schools might be offering admission in 2016 at slightly different MAT score cut offs than they offered earlier. The candidates may explore admission opportunities in number of B-schools and finalise the one according to their preference if they score the percentile as mentioned against them.
The computer based MAT 2016 May exam will be held on May 7, 2016 onwards. The difficulty level of MAT in CBT form is also expected to be of same level as was in the paper pencil form.
Match your scores
Calculation of percentile in MAT 2016 May exam is based on the score of 4 out of 5 components of Entrance test. 200 questions carry 1 mark each with negative marking. The maximum score of 200 in MAT is taken as the composite score of 800 on a scale of 1 to 100.
The cut off score in the B schools would imply the selection would be made if other parameters are also the same. For example if there are 10 students with the same score and are applying to a B school where only 4 seats are vacant, the candidate with better profile, work experience, higher age and gender diversity will be given preference.
Candidates who score 500 or more in MAT 2016 May test, may expect a good B school if they are quick to react and apply to the preferred B schools accepting MAT scores.
