XLRI and AIM Manila sign a wide-ranging agreement

XLRI Jamshedpur has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Asian Institute of Management, Manila.

XLRI and AIM Manila sign a wide-ranging agreement

Both institutions have agreed to work together in the areaof faculty exchange, joint executive development programmes, research and case development. Mr F. Estrada, President of AIM was present for the occasion of signing ceremony.

The MOU also envisages admission to more Indian students through the XAT entrance exam. In order to attract Indian applicants for admission, AIM has agreed to join the group of business schools that accept XAT (XLRIs aptitude test) for admission purposes. Further, AIM will also explore the possibility of promoting and conducting XAT on behalf of XLRI in the ASEAN region.

In the area of faculty exchange, AIM and XLRI will exchange at least 2 faculty members per academic year, inform XLRI. Each selected member will spend at least one academic term at the host institute. During this period, each member will be expected to teach at least one course in a full-time program of the host institute.

In the area of joint executive development programs, AIM and XLRI have agreed to jointly design, market, and conduct short-duration executive development programs in other countries, especially in the Asian region.
In the area of joint research,AIM and XLRI have agreed to identify research themes of international, particularly Asian, relevance and to form joint teams for carrying out research on them.

Case Development will also be a priority. AIM and XLRI have agreed to launch a concerted drive to develop Asia-based cases and, thereafter, publish jointly a compilation on an annual basis. A joint Management Journal by AIM and XLRI is also on cards. XLRI says that this journal will be an international-class management journal and will be ready by January 2010.

Student Exchange between the two institutions is also on cards.

AIM Manila is a leading Asian B-school and is now celebrating its 40 years of existence. It is recognized and accredited by both Equis and AACSB. It offers an MBA programme and several other management programmes.
