More seats in IIMs in 2017
After the visit of Mr Prakash Javadekar, Minister of HRD Govt of India to IIMs and his appeal to double their intake in coming years, it is expected that more candidates will find admission opportunities in IIMs.
Moving with the strategy while IIM Ahmedabad has slashed its qualifying minimum CAT 2016 percentile from 90 to 80, IIM Udaipur, Trichy have already announced their increased intake in PGP 2017-19 batch. It is expected that all the IIMs will increase their intake in 2017.

At present there are 20 IIMs and if each one adds 50 to 100 seats in 2017, it will come to around 2000 additional intake. With all this and more in the offing, you stand more chances to get admission in IIMs than earlier.
