This was IIM Ahmedabad that shrunk the CAT exam to one day testing window in 2015. This is the second time since then, that IIM Ahmedabad has been assigned the responsibility to convene the exam. Earlier IIM Ahmedabad conducted CAT in 2015 and not only increased the number of test sections from two to three but also introduced Non-MCQ type questions without negative marking penalty in CAT exam, under the convenership of Prof Tathagat Bandyopadhyay.
Reins taken over from IIM Indore
CAT 2020 conducted by IIM Indore brought number of effective changes like number of test sessions increased from two to three; reduced number of questions from 100 to 76; reduced testing time slots from 3 hours to 2 hours with many other changes. The exam was convened by IIM Indore under the convenership of Prof Harshal Lowalekar, faculty at IIM Indore on November 29, 2021.
The process of change in CAT began in 2014 and in 2015 and the test was totally transformed. Now since IIM Ahmedabad is known for its different approach, it is expected that more changes would be effected in CAT 2021.
