In the recently released Financial Times (FT) Global Executive Open MBA ranking 2023, IESE Business School, Spain has been ranked #1 globally and IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, ISB and IIM Kozhikode are awarded top four places in India. In the FT Global Executive MBA Education Custom 2023 ranking, Duke Corporate Education, USA is ranked #1 globally, while ISB is ranked #1 in India followed by IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore

IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, Indian School of Business (ISB) with campuses at Hyderabad & Mohali and IIM Kozhikode feature as Top Indian B-schools, in the recently released Financial Times (FT) Global Executive MBA Open 2023 rankings. IESE  Business School with campuses in Spain, US, Germany & Brazil is ranked #1 globally. Along with this, FT Global Executive MBA Custom ranking 2023 has also been released featuring ISB, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore as top B-schools in India, while the Duke Corporate Education, USA is ranked #1 globally for this program.

It is important to note that FT Global Executive MBA Open and Executive Custom Ranking 2023 have been released separately for each executive program. Prior work experience is the necessary admission criteria in both the programs.

IIM Ahmedabad: Ranked # 1 in India
The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) is a premier global management institute. It has been ranked #1 in India, for its Executive Education programmes, as per the latest Financial Times (FT) Executive Education Rankings 2023.  IIMA also holds the #2 rank in Asia and the 45th rank, globally.

IIM Ahmedabad first launched its Executive Education Programmes in January 1964. IIMA pioneered a unique Three-Tiered Programme for Management Development (dubbed later as the 3TP) with three different levels of the firm’s managerial cadre (middle, senior and top) attending the programme in different batches and for different durations.  Overall, IIMA’s Executive Education programmes have done well on several parameters in the rankings, which include international participants, international location, faculty, programme design, teaching methods, aims achieved, value for money and future use, among others. IIM Bangalore Executive MBA Open Education: Ranked #2 in India  
For its Executive MBA Open program, IIM Bangalore is ranked #2 in India and is ranked # 47 Globally in the FT Global Executive MBA Open Rankings 2023.

Key highlights of the IIMB Executive MBA open programs are:

  • The Open Programmes are either Short Duration Programmes(SDPs) or Long Duration Certificate Programmes(LDCPs)
  • A good number of IIMB upcoming, on-campus open courses are now being offered as Live Online open programmes
  • The Short Duration Programmes (SDPs) are of 3-5 days duration and address some of the issues facing the industry practitioners and/or based on the research interests of IIMB faculty.
  • The Long Duration Programs (LDCPs) are part-time programmes offered over 2-12 months. They address the needs of Managers for General Management skills or impact specialized skills/knowledge in a niche area such as Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship or Finance. The LDCPs are being offered as a combination of live online and on-campus sessions (at a later point in time)

IIM Kozhikode is ranked ahead of European business schools such as Bologna Business School from Italy, Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management from Belgium, and Nottingham Business School at NTU from United Kingdom (UK).

The debut in FT Rankings ranks IIM Kozhikode at 72nd position among the top-75 Open-enrolment executive program globally. This comes in the back of IIMK leapfrogging 100 spots to be placed in the Top 251-300 Institutes in Business & Management Studies globally, in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject 2023, released in March 2023.

Indian School of Business: Ranked # 1 in India
ISB is ranked #1 India in the Financial Times (FT) Executive Education Custom Ranking 2023. ISB has retained this top position in India and is ranked #29 globally, a significant jump from last year's ranking of #38. One of the significant features of the ranking is that ISB has been ranked #1 globally on the ‘Future Use’ parameter, which measures the likelihood of clients choosing ISB for future customised programmes and re-commissioning the same programmes. Some of the other key parameters where the School is ranked well globally include growth (#6), international clients (#11), and value for money (#23).

FT Global Rankings: Rigorous Ranking Process
FT Global Executive Education Rankings 2023, are based on a Global Survey of the executive participants and survey of respective institutes. The stringent process from FT mandated collection of data from eight criteria from programme participants: Preparation, Course Design, Teaching methods, Faculty, Quality of peers, New Skills and Learning, Follow-up and Achievement of aims. The next six mandated criteria were based on data submitted by the business schools: Female participants, International participants, International location, Growth, Partner schools and Faculty diversity. Based on these parameters, rankings have been arrived at.
