IIM Kozhikode one of the top-5 IIMs as per NIRF Rankings 2020, has taken yet another initiative to boost diversity on its campus and to attract international students to study MBA in India. It has announced 50 supernumerary seats for international students in its three leading full time MBA programmes – flagship PGP, PGP-Finance and PGP LSM. These programs are open for both NRIs and foreign nationals residing outside India
IIM Kozhikode offers 50 additional MBA Seats for International Candidates

Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK), among the top-5 IIMs as per NIRF Rankings 2020: Management, has taken yet another initiative to boost diversity on its campus and to attract international students to study MBA in India.

IIMK has announced 50 supernumerary seats for international students in its three leading full time MBA programmes. The seats have been announced for the flagship MBA – Post graduate Programme (PGP) and two other newly launched programs. These programs are open for both NRIs and foreign nationals residing outside India and have valid passport or travel document.

Sharing the rationale for the launch of this initiative, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIM Kozhikode said “Diversity has always been the pivot around which IIMK has successfully reshaped management education in the country, over the past decade.Our Institute mission of ‘Globalizing Indian Thought’ closely aligns with the Government of India’s thrust towards ‘Study in India’ programme, which in turn, has received a massive boost since the introduction of National Education Policy 2020.” 

Programs & Supernumerary Seats
The additional seats have been announced for the flagship MBA – Post graduate Programme (PGP) and two other latest offerings - Post Graduate Programme in Finance (PGP-F) and Post Graduate Programme in Liberal Studies and Management (PGP LSM). Here is the breakup of seats offered:

So who will be eligible for admissions and what will be the process?

Eligibility for Admission

  • Admission will be for candidates with a Graduate degree or equivalent in any discipline (with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA)
  • Admission shall be through valid CAT/GRE/GMAT scores along with TOEFL.
  • Minimum GMAT sectional percentile required is 60 or overall score of 600 and minimum GRE sectional percentile required is 60 or overall score of 320.
  • Minimum required CAT percentile is 80
  • Minimum required TOEFL/IELTS percentile/percentage is 70

Admission Process

  • International Candidates need to fill IIMK application form
  • The process for admission will be completed in two academic cycles closing on: 15 September, 2021 and 15 March, 2022. 
  • The application fee is $10 and will be waived for all those who have Study-in-India registration.
  • The applicants need to attend a virtual interview.
  • Final selection will be based on the interview marks

Program Fees for International Students
The total fee for the two-year programmefor International Students has been set at 30,000 USD and the enrolling candidates will have an all-resource access permissible stay in the campus including joining the international exchange programme.

Scholarships for International Students
Scholarships to eligible candidates will be granted by the respective committee of the institute, considering their past academic record, interview performance, their academic progress and overall conduct in the institute.   

  • IIM Kozhikode has introduced a special Scholarship Scheme which earmarks 3 grants for every 10 students enrolled through this drive. 
  • Reimbursement of 50% of the fees for one and 25% of the fees, for the other two students will be given.

Shedding further light on IIMK’s global aspirations, Prof. Shubhasis Dey, Dean (Programmes and International Relations) added: “IIMK’s renewed focus on welcoming international candidates into our campus will surely bring in an added vibrancy and dynamism in our classrooms and contribute to the richness of our academic programmes.”

Started in 1997 with its Postgraduate Program (PGP), the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) is on a high growth trajectory today, offering widest range of academic programs in the field of management education. These include Fellow Programme in Management, Executive PG Programmes, Management Development Programmes and Faculty Development Programs. IIMK set up a Satellite campus at Infopark, Kochi, in 2013 dedicated to Executive Education.
