MICAT Selection Process: Components & Weightages, GE-PI Process, Final Merit List
Latest Update: MICA will conduct final selection process for admission 2023 from March first week to third week, 2023 in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. Read below the key components, steps and weightages awarded in MICA Selection process.
The selection process for PGDM-C and PGDM 2023-25 batch at MICA involves three stages:
Stage-I: Apply with CAT/ XAT/GMAT. Each candidate has to take at least one of the three exams: CAT/ XAT/GMAT. The application to MICA Ahmedabad for admission 2023 should be submitted online separately with the registration details of at least of the above three exams. An application fee of Rs.2100/- should be paid online.
Stage-II: Appear in MICA Admission Test (MICAT). All candidates who have applied for MICA Admission 2022 need to appear in computer based MICAT exam. They are assessed on MICAT score, which consists of 6 sections: Psychometric (P), Verbal ability (VA), Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QADI), General awareness (GA), Divergent and Convergent Thinking (DCT), and Descriptive Test (DT).
Stage-III: Appear in GE & PI: All the candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in CAT 2022/XAT 2023/GMAT 2021 onwards & MICAT shall appear for both GE & PI at designated centre on designated dates
7 Step Guide for MICA Selection Process through MICAT 2023 Exam
MICA admission is open through MICAT-I and MICAT-II registration and application process. The Step by Step process for MICAT exam and MICA selection process 2023 is as below
Step-1: Apply for MICAT-I or MICAT-II or Both
- MICAT-I Application is open till November last week
- MICAT-II Registration opens from November 2022 last week
- If the candidates apply for MICAT-I, they need to apply again for MICAT-II to improve score
- MICAT is mandatory Entrance Test for MICA Admission 2023
- Common Application form for MICAT and MICA Admission
Step-2: Take CAT 2022 or XAT 2023
- CAT 2022 is of 2 hours duration exam
- XAT 2023 is of 3 hours duration exam
Step-3: Take MICAT-I Exam in December
- All the candidates who had applied for MICAT-I have to appear in MICAT-I in December
- MICAT-I will be conducted in 48 cities in India
- MICAT is computer based objective type test of 2 hours 15 minutes duration
- MICAT exam includes psychometric section, the descriptive section and an aptitude section with objective-type questions
Step-4: Take MICAT-II Exam in January 2023
- MICAT-II is also of 2 Hours 15 Minutes duration
- Exam composition is like that of MICAT-I
Step-5: Check MICA Shortlisting based on CAT/XAT & MICAT. Likely Date: 3rd week Feb 2023
- Candidates will be shortlisted for final selection round in 3rd week of Feb
- CAT/XAT cut off expected at 80 percentile
- Shortlist to have weightage of 50% to CAT/XAT score and 50% to MICAT score
Step-6: Attend Group Exercise & Personal Interview Round in 5 Cities. Likely Date: Early March 2023
- Short listed candidates will be called for GE and PI at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata & Mumbai.
- GE-PI will be conducted from March 1st week to March 3rd week 2023 in different cities
Step-7: Check MICA Final Selection Merit List & Admission Offers. Likely Date: April 2023
- MICA Ahmedabad will generate final merit list for admission 2023 in April 2023
- GE-PI will be awarded 50% weightage
- 30% weightage is awarded to MICAT score; 20% to CAT/XAT score
MICA Admission 2023: Preparation of Merit List
All those candidates who appear in GE & PI, and fulfill the following conditions will be considered for the merit list:
- Majority recommendation by all the panel members of PI.
- At least 3.5 or more on a 5-point scale in GE
- At least 4 or more on a 5-point scale in PI

MICAT 2023: Application fee
MICAT Application Fee is Rs. 2100/-. It includes the MICA application fee also.
