IIM Amritsar has successfully completed 100% Placement 2021 for its 5th and large PGP 2019-21 batch of 146 students. Average salary for the batch has gone up to 12.68 LPA in 2021 from Rs.12.61 LPA last year despite the pandemic situation and economic slowdown. While IT has emerged has top recruiting sector, Sales & Marketing is the top recruiting domain with roles offered by Accenture, Amazon, Deloitte, EY, HCL, Infosys, Mu Sigma among others

IIM Amritsar has yet again, successfully completed the final Placement 2021 for its 5th and larger PGP 2019-21 batch of 146 students. Not only it has broken its past record and surpassed the salary packages of its last batch, but despite the large batch size of 146 students, the institute has also achieved 100% placement with much higher offers that many well established top MBA colleges have not been able to achieve in this economic slowdown and pandemic situation. 

Announcing the wrapping up the final placement 2021 for its 5th batch 2019-21, one of the 7 newest IIMs, IIM Amritsar has stated, “Despite the copious challenges and vicissitudes posed by the changing landscape of the job market and education in 2020, IIM Amritsar clinched a befitting conclusion to the academic year 2020-21 by achieving 100% final placements for its MBA05 batch. 54% Students with Work Experience
PGP 2019-21 is a diverse batch at IIM Amritsar. The batch comprises 54 percent students with work experience from few months to three-four years in different domains and sectors. Only 46 percent students are freshers. The batch consists of 88% male students and 12% female students.

The highlight of this year's placement was a good increase in the average package despite the largest batch so far and the country going through all the pandemic situation and economy passing through a grim situation. Top Recruiters
The relevant knowledge, skill and diversity of the students attracted recruiters from various sectors spanning across all prominent domains of management. The institute hosted many first-time participants also. For the placement season this year, the institute witnessed a well-balanced amalgamation of offers encompassing various domains ranging from Marketing, Sales, Finance, Analytics, HR to some noteworthy offers in the Operations domain. Strategy, Advisory & Consulting roles were also offered to the students from two of the Big Four accounting firms, viz., Deloitte and Ernst & Young.

The prominent recruiters this year included Accenture, Amazon, Anand Rathi, BYJU’s, Cipla, Crompton, Delhivery, Deloitte, EY, HCL, Infosys, Mu Sigma, Suzlon, Tech Mahindra, TresVista, Urban Company among others.

While the reputable firms viz ICICI Lombard, Anand Rathi, Accenture, Cipla, Polycab, Xiaomi, Infosys, Amazon, Tech Mahindra, Mu Sigma, Grant Thornton, and the likes returned for recruitment, affirming the quality of the students of the institute, the new marquee recruiters like Gartner, Capital Foods, HCL visited the campus for the first time during the placement season 2021.

IIM Amritsar started operation in 2015 with 45 students in its 1st batch. The second batch at IIM Amritsar with 104 students was the largest among all the newest IIMs. Since then the batch size of IIM Amritsar has been rising consistently. The successful completion of Placement 2021 for the 5th large batch at IIM Amritsar reflects its industry and corporate acceptability.

IIM Amritsar is the 15th Indian Institute of Management set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development with the support of Government of Punjab in 2015. The permanent campus of the  institute is being set up under the direction and mentorship of IIM Kozhikode.
