Candidates aspiring to seek admission in MBA abroad from highly ranked B school should score high in GMAT. Skill assessment with GMAT score

The four sections of the GMAT test namely Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA), Quantitative, Verbal and Integrated Reasoning measure a candidate’s skills and abilities required to fit the MBA abroad programme in the preferred B school. 

AWA – Measures the ability to analyze the reasoning behind a given argument and write a critique of that argument. It consists of a 30 minute essay and average scores can range from 0-6.

Quantitative – Measures the ability to reason quantitatively, solve quantitative problems, interpret graphical data and use information given in the problem. It consists of 37 questions to be completed in 75 minutes. Score ranges from 0-60.

Verbal –Measures ability to read and comprehend written material, reasoning and evaluate arguments and usage of correct written English. It consists of 41 questions to be completed in 75 minutes. Score ranges from 0-60.

Integrated Reasoning – Measures ability to evaluate or synthesize data present in multiple formats from multiple sources. It consists of 12 questions to be completed in 30 minutes. Score ranges from 1-8.

The duration of the entire GMAT test is 3 hours, 30 minutes.

GMAT Scores: Hit the best

Your quest for MBA Abroad can only be satisfied with high GMAT score. The GMAT score ranges from 200-800. According to GMAC, two-thirds of test takers score between 400-600. A score above 700 is considered to be a good score for admission into top B-Schools where aspirants from India can pursue their MBA abroad dream. A competitive GMAT score is between 650-700.

GMAT not the sole admission criterion

It is imperative for prospective MBA abroad applicants to know that GMAT is one factor on which their application is evaluated. Do not be disheartened with a low GMAT because a low score can be offset with a high GPA, proven track record in a quantitative job and outstanding extracurricular or leadership activities. Nevertheless, a good GMAT score will always help you get into the B school whereas a low GMAT may not always guarantee an admission for MBA abroad aspirants.
