With an aim to further strengthen Alumni Relations, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) organized Sanidhya’15, the Annual Alumni Meet in 6 cities–Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai in May 2015. The event is held every year across major cities of the country and provides a platform for the alumni to reconnect with their alma mater. Sanidhya’15 saw massive participation from XIMB Alumni including Entrepreneurs, CXOs, GMs, Directors from various industries and domains.

 

The Director of the institution, Fr. Paul Fernandes, and other faculty members were present for the event in different cities. Various aspects of the activities at the institute, and progress plans, were shared and discussed with the alumni. Eminent guest speakers were also invited in some cities. The Bengaluru Edition of Sanidhya also witnessed a guest session by Mr. V. Balakrishnan, Chairman of Exfinity Technology Fund and ex-CFO of Infosys, who elaborated on the topic "Entrepreneurship and Technology". It was an enriching session for all present. At Chennai, Shri Rajib Kumar Hota, Commissioner of Income Tax (TDS) was the guest speaker. 

 

The event presented a golden opportunity for the current students who are in different locations for their summer internship and also aspirants who look forward to join XIMB, to network with the esteemed alumni to know about the expectation of the Corporates and gather insights. Such events from the institute ensure that the respected and well-placed alumni body is always made a part of the institute’s progress. Suggestions from the Alumni have been of a great help in taking the institute to greater heights and further strengthening brand XIMB. This also improves the alignment of the institute curriculum with the industry, and helps enhance the industry interface of the institution. Interactions with entrepreneurs and business leaders also foster the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst the bright minds of the institute.

 

ABOUT XUB

 

Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) was established 27 years ago. The B school is now a part of Xavier University, Bhubaneswar (XUB) which was established in accordance to Xavier University Act 2013 and was inaugurated on July 7, 2014. The University is India’s first digital University and an institution of higher learning for imparting professional and technical education.

XUB offers its flagship post graduate programmes in the streams of Business Management, Human Resource Management and Rural Management along with doctoral programmes, Executive programmes and Global MBA programme and graduate level programme in Commerce.
