International Management Institute, New Delhi, one of the premier Business schools in the country is known for its intellectual capital and remarkable pedagogy. First Corporate Sponsored B-school
Established in 1981, IMI New Delhi is India’s first corporate sponsored B-School. It was launched in collaboration with International Management Institute, Geneva (currently International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Lausanne).  It is also one of the seven institutes in India to be accredited by the international association, AMBA.  All programs at IMI New Delhi are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Pioneering to Pinnacle
The Director-General of IMI New Delhi, Padmashri Dr Bakul Dholakia, has 45 years of experience in the education domain with a majority of it at IIM Ahmedabad. Besides this, he also occupied the RBI chair from 1992 to 1999, served as the Dean of IIMA from 1998 to 2001, and as the director of the Institute from 2002 to 2007. He has guided and nurtured many Ph.D. students in diverse specializations. Raghuram Rajan, Harsha Bhogle, Nachiket Mor are some of his students. With a vision to establish IMI New Delhi as a Global brand and further IMI’s stature to be the best private B-school in the country, Dr Dholakia plans to change the classroom experience with greater profile diversity and experiential learning.

Programmes offered

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)
The two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management is the flagship programme of IMI New Delhi. It is designed to prepare students for the modern day industry which is undergoing a radical change in this globalized world. The program is approved by AICTE and accredited by AMBA. IMI New Delhi follows the trimester system with the academic calendar beginning in June and each trimester being of 11–12 weeks duration.

The pedagogy includes case studies, seminars, peer learning, role plays, business games, experiential learning activities, field visits. The curriculum is carefully designed keeping in mind the industry needs.

Post-Graduate Diploma in Management - Human Resources (PGDHRM)
Started in 2006, the program prepares a cadre of HR professionals equipped with appropriate values, perspective, and competencies to become managers in developing a culture of excellence in the organization. The program is approved by AICTE.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management - Banking and Financial Services (PGDM - B&FS)
In 2014, IMI Delhi launched a two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Banking & Financial Services approved by the AICTE. IMI New Delhi’s two year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Banking & Financial Services) is designed to prepare students for a career in the banking and financial services industry. The program equips students with strong conceptual skills to manage banking & finance related businesses in an integrated manner. The emphasis is on developing a holistic manager with a vision to take on the challenges of the future in a socially sensitive manner.

Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Management (EXPGDM)
Started in 1984, this 15 month full-time program is designed for experienced executives who wish to take up leadership roles in the industry or have been identified by their organizations for such roles. The program provides general management and functional area orientation with emphasis on international and cross-cultural exposure. The program would provide an opportunity for personal as well as professional growth through a rigorous interactive learning environment including a 5-week International study module. The program is approved by AICTE and Association of MBA’s (AMBA).

Fellow Program in Management (FPM)
The program includes intensive formal courses as well as individually pursued self-study courses on special topics and research programs. The Research Scholars are expected to work closely with the Institute’s well known faculty, both inside and outside the classroom. The FPM is designed to prepare students for careers in research, teaching and consultancy in technical and theoretical disciplines underlying business administration. It is approved by the AICTE.

Summer Internships
As part of the course curriculum, Students are required to intern at any organization for two months. This gives them the must-needed industry exposure before a full-fledged managerial career and a chance to implement the classroom learning.

Student Exchange Program
IMI New Delhi has a large number student exchange tie-ups with universities across the world. It is indeed an opportunity for students to get an international perspective to the dynamic and increasingly international facets of management. The collaborations with many universities such as AMK University of Applied Sciences, University in Jyvaskyla, Finland, ESC Rennes International School of Business, France brings in the international perspective of management to the global leaders shaped at IMI New Delhi. Moreover interactions with exchange students from various countries across the world such as France, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Russia and France also gives the students an opportunity to go beyond the purview of nationality and embrace the idea of a global citizen.

Diverse Specializations
Students are given the opportunity to avail diverse electives across various domains such as Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Strategy. The Specialized courses of PGDMHR and PGDM-Banking and Financial Services are streamlined from the outset. A basket of electives are also available for these courses in second year.

Placements at IMI
Continuing the legacy of IMI the Final placement season of 2014-15 was a resounding success. There were a number of PPOs offered by various companies such as Agrotech Foods, Altisources, Asian Paints, Capgemini, Genpact, HSBC, Hughes Systique, PeopleStrong, Perfetti Van Melle, RPG Enterprises and Tata Capital.

For the batch of 2013-15, 88 companies visited the campus in all to recruit from a batch of 241 students (181 in PGDM and 60 in PGDHRM program). The average compensation for the batch was 9.28 lakhs (INR) with the highest compensation reaching 19.25 lakhs (INR). The average compensation for PGDHRM batch was 8.12 lakhs (INR).

The summer placements also notched up good numbers for the 2014-15 season with an average stipend of INR 27000 PM. The highest compensation offered was 75000 INR.

Recruiters at IMI
Companies from diverse sectors visited the campus for recruitment. Some of the major recruiters were Asian Paints, Axis Bank, Barclays, Future Generali, Mahindra Comviva, Shopclues, AC Nielson, Bata India, Jubilant Foodworks, Capgemini, Genpact, HSBC, Hughes Systique, PeopleStrong, Tata Capital.
