After the successful conduct of shortest ever one day two session CAT 2015 in its computerized format, some of the misleading media reports have been carrying the news that the answer keys for CAT 2015 would be made available shortly by IIMs to the candidates.

Getting panicky and confused by the misleading news items, thousands of CAT 2015 takers have approached MBAUniverse.com whether answer keys would be made available by IIMs for the test questions.

Alarmed with such a situation as never before answer keys for CAT exams that too for a computer based test were made available by the IIMs in any year since 2009 when CAT went green, MBAUniverse.com chose to verify the facts right from IIM Ahmedabad the CAT 2015 convening IIM.

In an unambiguous and straight forward answer to the raised verification query from MBAUniverse.com whether there would be answer keys made available for CAT 2015 exam, Prof Tathagata Bandyopadhyay, Convener CAT 2015 and admission chair IIM Ahmedabad has confirmed No this not the case, IIMs will not make available any answer keys to CAT 2015 exam, all of this is a rumour.

With this answer right from the CAT 2015 convener, candidates are advised to not to get misled by any of the misleading reports and should rely on their performance in the exam.

CAT 2015 has proved to be a turning point in the history of computerized CAT. Till 2013 the exam was conducted in 15 to 20 days spread over 40 testing sessions. For the first time in 2014 CAT was conducted in 2 days 4 sessions. Improving further and reducing the scope for score normalization issues, CAT 2015 has successfully been conducted in a single day 2 sessions on November 29, 2015 without any technical glitches in either session.

2.18 lakh candidates registered for CAT 2015 as against 1.97 lakh last year. The increase in number of applicants in CAT 2015 proves that the exam is gaining more popularity and more candidates are interested to pursue MBA/PGDM from top rated IIMs and other top notch B-schools in India.

Common Admission Test (CAT) is the mandatory entrance exam to get into any of the 19 IIMs. It is expected that total intake in IIMs for the PGP batch 2-016-18 would cross 5000 seats and more than 50000 candidates will be shortlisted by the IIMs for the final Personal Interview (PI) round comprising Written Ability Test (WAT)/ Group Discussion (GD) along with personal interaction after declaration of CAT 2015 result in the middle of January 2016.

Each of the IIMs has announced minimum sectional and overall cut off percentile in CAT 2015 exam to shortlist the candidates for final admission round. Candidates are further advised not to rely upon rumours and start preparing for their GD/PI/WAT round sincerely for admission 2016-18 batch.
