Keeping with the IMT tradition, the inaugural ceremony also witnessed an immensely inspiring keynote by Ms. Jaba Sen Menon, Head, Communications & Brand, Centum Learning Limited and an IMT alumna of 1988 batch. While reminiscing her two years at IMT 30 years back, Ms. Menon emphasised on the need for the young minds to practice three Ds, viz Discipline, Determination, and Dedication in order to become exemplary leaders and better global citizens.
This was followed by an open question and answer session for students with the Director, the Dean and the Programme Head. The new students also engaged with Student Affairs and Welfare Committee (SAWC) and Vishal Goyal, Corporate Relations Head, IMT Ghaziabad.
Introducing the students with the Programme Dr. Reema Khurana said, “The philosophy of the IMT’s PGDM is four-fold – Balancing long and short term objectives, Grooming leadership, Leadership starting with self, and Knowing doing and being. And the programme architecture is designed to appropriately shape an individual who is not only a successful professional but is also capable of self-assessment, balancing and improvement through continuous learning.”
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay, Director IMT Ghaziabad said, “The focus of IMT’s philosophy of grooming leadership is on Innovation, Execution and Social Responsibility. We have introduced multiple courses and modules in order to realise the same for instance, a Personal Growth Lab and Assessment Centre, a module for Organisations Based Projects and a course encompassing Business, Government, Society and Industry (BGSI). We are realigning our programme so as to accommodate these need-of-the-future initiatives. Soon we will also have a full-fledged Design Lab on the campus. I am sure this will provide an edge to the IMT graduates.”
