Self-Directed Learning (SDL): It is an innovative approach that empowers students to harness their inherent potential. SDL enables learners to choose from two of the approved methods, as determined by their faculty mentor, to earn 6 SDL credits over the two-year program. Skill Building: To support student growth and skill-building, the institute has introduced specialized modules that focus on essential, in-demand skills. These non-credit courses, designed in collaboration with our faculty and industry experts, cover critical areas including Microsoft Excel, Learning and Development, Reasoning, Soft Skills, Communication, and Aptitude Training. Besides, the Skill Augmentation Certifications (SACs) at GIMS, provide an edge to the aspirants over others in terms of knowledge, awareness, hands on practice and confidence in the certification domains. The certifications are provided in the core area as well as the respective specialisations too. GIMS has a tie-up with course era where the students are provided more than 100 certifications on the latest trends in the industry.
Innovative Pedagogy: GIMS believes in educating the students through change makers in their fields. Catering to the idea, the institute organises talk series at three levels for the students:
a) The Chanakya Talk Series (CTS): Under The Chanakya Talk Series (CTS), leaders from the corporate world are invited to speak to budding managers. These people lead their organizations to new heights and operate at senior leadership positions such as CEOs, CHROs, CXOs.
b) The Prabodhan Talk Series (PTS): The Prabodhan Talk Series (PTS), is another platform for corporate interaction at a functional level. The PTS is delivered by the professional managers operating at the functional level in their career. The talk series acts as a guiding light to the students, illuminating their journey from ambition to achievement.
c) The Samrik Talk Series (STS): The Samrik Talk Series (STS), caters to the speakers from the veterans from the Indian Army and other allied fields and industry. The veterans from different fields are invited, who are invaluable repositories of wisdom, offering insights beyond the textbooks. The STS, hosted by seasoned figures, illuminates career nuances, inspiring resilience and innovation among the students. They unravel decision complexities, sharing foresight on industry shifts and fostering adaptability.
d) HR Talk Series (HTS): The platform fosters corporate interaction, offering essential guidance for future leadership success. The HR Talk Series provides PGDM students with actionable strategies and insights from industry professionals to seamlessly transition from theory to practice and excel in their careers.
Faculty: The students are mentored by the in-house faculties and the corporate personnel right from the beginning of their course. This is done in a bi-fold fashion viz.,
a) Faculty Mentorship: This dynamic mentoring program fosters meaningful connections between faculty and students, providing personalized guidance that nurtures well-rounded development. Each faculty member is assigned a diverse group of students, offering tailored support, advice, and counselling. This comprehensive mentorship framework not only enhances academic success but also empowers students to thrive in their personal and professional lives, equipping them for future leadership.
b) Corporate Mentorship: The students are mentored by the corporate personnel from the II trimester, where the industry experts guide the students on the various aspects of industry demands from the professionals. This is done through the Resume to Role Series, a monthly activity which is practised rigorously.
Innovation & Entrepreneurship: GIMS, working closely with the Institute Innovation Councils (IICs), drives innovation and entrepreneurship through various activities such as workshops, seminars, and training sessions. These efforts include providing incubation support to help students refine their ideas and develop prototypes. By hosting hackathons, competitions, and industry collaborations, GIMS ensures that theoretical knowledge is effectively applied in practical settings. The IIC's focus at GIMS includes enhancing skills in design thinking, problem-solving, and leadership. Additionally, the InnovateUp incubator, a key component of the IIC at GIMS, supports start-up creation by offering mentorship, funding opportunities, and networking connections for aspiring entrepreneurs.
