Union HRD Minister Dr M M Pallam Raju will lay the foundation of a state of art new campus of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur at Pota-Cheriya village under Naya Raipur on May 5, 2013.  Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and Higher and Technical Education Minister Shri Ram Vichar Netam will also be present on the occasion.

The institute which is currently operating from Government Engineering College at Sejbahar, has its proposed campus spread across 200 acres of land. The institute aims to complete the construction by 2016.

Speaking on the upcoming campus, IIM Raipur Director Prof. B.S. Sahay, said, “The state of art campus planned at Naya Raipur will be a blend of modernity and cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh. The campus will depict modern architecture and assimilate the culture and traditions of Chhattisgarh.”

The new campus will facilitate the institute’s vision to be a world class institute that has global outlook imbedded with regional and national focus.

Speaking about the occasion, Dr Sahay said, “It is day when we reiterate our commitment to contribute to the growth and development of the region and the nation. The State Government has been very encouraging since day one and we hope that it continues its support in the years to come.”

IIM Raipur was set up by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) in 2010. The Institute offers a Post Graduate Programme, a Doctoral programme, executive education and consulting services to Government, Public and Private sector and other organizations.

The Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) which is the flagship programme of IIM Raipur started in 2010 with an aim to provide overall development of the students and groom them as future leaders to successfully face the challenge of global competition and dynamic market scenario. The Institute started the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) from academic year 2012-13. Being a full-time doctoral programme it offers research scholars opportunities for advanced studies and research in different area of ‘management’.

At present four students are being trained as scholars. The Institute also started its Executive Fellow Program in Management (EFPM), which is a unique doctoral programme in management specifically designed for working professionals with more than 10 years of work experience in industry. The major aim of the programme, according to the institute, is to produce excellent researcher and bring up academicians who have a strong practical experience of the corporate world.
