CAT 2013 Day 10 Analysis: Student reported error in DI question
CAT 2013 Day10 first session is over.Few students from Noida test centre claimed that one of the questions in Data Interpretation section was incomplete. This article brings you the analysis of the first session.
The first session for Day 10, on October 28, got over this afternoon at 1.00 PM. MBAUniverse.com editorial team was present on many centers in New Delhi, Noida and spoke to students for their first reaction.
In a surprise turn of events, few students from Noida test centre claimed that one of the questions in Data Interpretation section was incomplete.
Sudeep, a test taker at Noida Test centre said, One of the 3 sets of DI had a questions with tables but the question was incomplete as Ratios were not given which was necessary to solve the question. I first tried to solve but realized that I have wasted my time. I dont know how I would be marked on the wrong DI question?
Another test takers of CAT 2013 Day 10 first session, Faiz at the same test centre said, All was fine except the one DI question which I believe was wrong. Quant was however moderate in difficulty level and verbal was easy for me.
Nikita, a CAT 2013 test taker gave her feedback and said, My paper was as expected. Quant was average and verbal was very easy for me. LR was a bit calculation intensive but doable. RC had a passage on Feminism which I guess was present in earlier CAT 2013 test dates too.

Quantitative Ability: Moderate in difficulty level
The Quantitative Ability area had maximum questions from Algebra followed by geometry and functions with around 5, 4 and 3-4 questions respectively. Rests of the questions were from other usual topics such as Arithmetic, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Time Speed & Distance, Number system, etc.
Data Interpretation: Incomplete question, Easy in difficulty level
Few students from Noida test centre claimed that one of the questions in Data Interpretation section was incomplete. As per the students feedback Data Interpretation area saw a question with tables but the Ratios data in the question was missing which was crucial to arrive at the correct answer. Other questions in DI were on Pie Chart and bar diagram were termed as average in difficulty level by many students.
Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning: Easy & time consuming
The Verbal Ability questions were termed as easy by the candidates. Verbal Section covered questions from all topics like Reading Comprehension, Para Jumble, Vocabulary, Error correction in paragraph, identifying the Out of Context sentences. Passages were in between 600-650 words and were easy to understand with direct questions. Passages were survey based.
The Logical Reasoning questions in CAT 2013 Day 10 were time consuming and calculation intensive. Questions sets were based on sequencing, blood relations and circular arrangements.
