The Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management (LBSIM) hosted an IT Summit on Changing Business Dynamics in IT industry at its campus in New Delhi. The conference was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Ravi Swaminathan, MD, Advance Micro Devices (AMD)

The Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management (LBSIM) hosted an IT Summit on ‘Changing Business Dynamics in IT industry’ at its campus in New Delhi. The purpose of the summit was to create a platform to absorb insights on how to bring to surface some radical innovations from IT which can bring strategic transformations in the IT Industry.

The conference was divided into two technical sessions. The first being a technical session covered topics like Big Data, ERP, Cloud Computing and Cyber Crime  and the second session dealt with changing role of HR in IT industry, which were attended by eminent academicians and industry professionals.

The conference was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Ravi Swaminathan, Managing Director- Advance Micro Devices (AMD) who in his inaugural address stressed on recent business dynamics in IT industry. He said, “We over estimate the changes in short term, we under estimate the changes in long term”. He specifically talked about three C’s i.e., Consumerization of industries, Convergence of Industries and Cloud Computing.

Dr. P.K. Biswas, Director – LBSIM, in his welcome address emphasized the increasingly important role of technology in every walk of life and about the trends and dimensions in technology and its impact on people and future. Dr. G.L Sharma, Professor and Advisor: Corporate Interface, LBSIM noted that, “Everything today melts down to raise the revenue”.

He proposed 3 A’s of management and shared that they are Anticipate, Acquire and Allocate the resources. Mr. Alok Gupta Founder & MD-Pyramid Cyber Security & Forensic Ltd. shared his experiences in the field of Cyber Crime and forensic and how IT is dealing with it. He gave an insight of digital forensic analysis and Stenography with some real life examples.

The summit also emphasized on the synergies between IT and the traditional HR role.
