CAT 2013 Day13 first session is over. Quantitative Ability section was moderate while Verbal section was average in difficulty level. This article brings you the analysis of the first session.
Quant was a bit difficult for me but DI was easy. Questions on Pie chart and tables were very easy. LR was easy too

The first session for Day 13, on October 31, got over this afternoon at 1.00 PM. MBAUniverse.com editorial team was present on many centers in New Delhi, Noida and Greater Noida to speak to students for their first reaction. According to students on CAT Day 13 first session, Quantitative Ability section was moderate while Verbal section was average in difficulty level. Both Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning section was relatively easy.

Vaishnavi, a test taker at Noida Test centre said, “Quant was a bit difficult for me but DI was easy. Questions on Pie chart and tables were very easy. LR was easy too.”

Another test taker of CAT 2013 Day 13 first session, Himanshu said, “Paper was fine. Verbal was average and RC was good too. One passage took a little bit more time of mine but LR was quick.” 

Let us have a look at the question types in the sections:

Quantitative Ability: Moderate in difficulty level

The Quantitative Ability area had maximum questions from Algebra followed by geometry with 4 and 3 questions respectively. Rests of the questions were from other usual topics such as Arithmetic, Trigonometry, Functions, Mensuration, Time Speed & Distance, Number system, etc.

Data Interpretation: Easy in difficulty level
Data Interpretation was termed easy by many students. Questions in DI were on Pie Chart, table and bar diagram.

Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning: Average in difficulty level
The Verbal Ability questions were termed as average in difficulty by the candidates. Verbal Section covered questions from all topics like Reading Comprehension, Para Jumble, Vocabulary, Error correction in paragraph, identifying the Out of Context sentences. Passages were in between 600-650 words and were easy to understand with direct questions. Passages were survey based.

The Logical Reasoning questions in CAT 2013 Day 13 were easy and quick to solve. Questions sets were based on sequencing, blood relations and arrangements.

CAT 2013 result is scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. CAT 2013 candidates can view their results on MBAUniverse.com with their roll number, username and password. The CAT 2013 result score card will be valid between January 14, 2014 and December 31, 2014.
