FORE School Director Dr JK Das wins Best Director Award

Dr Jitendra K. Das, Director of FORE School of Management, New Delhi has received the Best Director Award at the Asian Education Leadership Awards which was held on 24th September 2013 at Movenpick Hotel, Jumeirah Beach, Dubai.

The Best Director Award falls under the Asian Education Leadership Awards, which is given for contributions towards shaping careers of future management professionals. Acknowledging the award, Dr Jitendra K. Das gave the credit to his institution and said, I am privileged to be part of FORE School of Management, New Delhi, which continuously strives to make a niche for itself. This award is recognition for all the work the institute has been doing. I am elated to receive the award on the behalf of the institute and the entire FORE family that works towards the goal of creating a unique space for itself in the management school environment.

Before joining FORE School of Management, Dr Jitendra. K. Das was founder Dean (Noida Campus) and a Professor of Marketing at the IIM Lucknow. He has a B.Tech. and a M. Tech degree both from the IIT- Delhi, and a doctorate degree from the University of Toronto. He has to his credit many national and international publications. He has a wide-ranging experience of the industry in the development of customer interface and sales systems at various organizations including at WIPRO. He has been a consultant to the World Bank, IDRC (Canada), GWB (for GTZ Germany), etc., and member of policy committees of the Government of India. He has taught Marketing Management, Advanced Marketing Research, Strategic Internet Marketing and Customer Relationship Management courses at IIM Lucknow, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Kozhikode.

The Asian Leadership Awards are given to achievers and future leaders in the world of business. The event attracts and acknowledges business leaders from all over the continent who have made a difference to the economic development of their countries, especially in the post-recession period.

Dr. Das agrees with the notion that awards for educationists directly relate to grooming of students at respective institutes. It is generally believed that faculty makes a good B-school, thereby resulting in the overall development of the students so as to prepare them for the corporate world. The faculty at FORE School of Management, New Delhi has been trying tirelessly to prove this point, he says.

Explaining the institutes vision for the future as Dr. Das said, We are taking new initiatives to involve students in various corporate assignments with the objective of them getting a valuable on-the-job live experience. We are encouraging students to work on new idea projects and plan to provide the initial funding. Later, the successful initiatives can be funded by external investors, for which we have initiated discussions.

He further added that, Faculty members are sent to national and international conferences. Faculty Development Programmes at international locations, with local academic partners, are organised to sharpen their skills.
