MICAT 2014: Admission Criteria and Test Pattern

Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) conducts separate MBA entrance test MICAT 2014 or MICAs Admission Test 2014. The test is conducted by MICA for the candidates who seek admission to this B-School. However, candidates must have appeared in CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA or GMAT. MICAT 2014 will be a combination of subjective and objective exam.
MICAs flagship two year residential program is its Post Graduate Diploma in Management Communications (PGDM-C), equivalent to MBA, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and recognized by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.
All candidates who apply to MICA with CAT2013 / XAT2013 / XAT2014 / MAT2013 (Feb/May/ Sept/Dec) / CMAT2013 (Sept) / ATMA 2013 (Feb/May/July) GMAT (2010 onwards) irrespective of their scores, will be called for MICAT 2014 , subject to their application form being complete and accepted by MICA. The last date to apply for MICAT 2014 is January 31, 2014 and the exam will be held in February / March 2014. The expected announcement of the MICAT 2014 result will happen in April 2014. The test will be conducted at 12 centers across the country namely Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jammu, Hyderabad,
Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai.
Eligibility
Admission to the PGDM(C) programme of MICA requires a Bachelors degree (in keeping with the 10 + 2 + 3 system) or an equivalent qualification in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Candidates appearing for final examinations towards a Bachelors degree (or equivalent) are also eligible to apply.
Admissions criteria
The admission process of MICA is divided into two stages:
MICAT 2014 stage-1-Students who have appeared for any of the following exams CAT 2013, XAT (2013, 2014), GMAT (2010 onwards), ATMA 2013, CMAT (Sept 2013), MAT (Feb, May, Sept, Dec 2013), will be allowed to take MICAT 2014.
Although it is necessary to have appeared in above referred national management entrance examinations, qualifying the same is not mandatory to be called for 2nd stage.
Stage II: The GE/PI stage: On the basis of their performance in the MICAT 2014 only, students will be shortlisted to appear for the Group Exercise and Personal Interview stage (held in the MICA campus).
Exam pattern:
MICAT 2014 will have the sections of Verbal Reasoning, Quantative Ability and Data Interpretation, Psychometric Section, Logical reasoning, Creative writing, General awareness and Current Affairs.
There may or may not be negative marking in the MICAT 2014. So the students should read the instructions in the paper carefully before attempting it.
MICAT 2013 had negative marking in all sections except in the psychometric and creative writing sections.
