With the CAT 2013 results out now, successful candidates should now be ready with their next strategy Admission to Indian Institute of Management (IIMs)

CAT 2013 candidates would remember that, the 13 IIMs have altogether added more than hundred seats for admission year 2014, taking the total tally to 3335 seats, across 13 IIMs. Thus this year CAT candidates have a better chance of getting into IIMs in comparison to last year.

MBAUniverse.com estimates that more than 15,000 students are likely to get a call from IIMs for Personal Interview round.

Prof. Hari Sreekumar, Chairperson of Admissions,IIM Tiruchirappalli said,The new IIMs have confirmed that they will be collectively calling 10,000 candidates for their 800 seats. New IIMs refer to IIM Tiruchirappalli, IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Raipur, IIM Kashipur, IIM Udaipur. Seven older IIMs will however follow their own process, each calling approximately 2000-4000 candidates.

For example, IIM Indore has announced that it will be calling 4510 candidates for its 451 seats. Many candidates are likely to get multiple calls. In the end, more than 15000 candidates will end up getting interview calls to IIMs. This will in fact mirror the top 10% of the CAT test takers which are approx 17,000 in number.

If you have scored higher percentile in CAT 2013 exam, you can check your eligibility and can calculate your chances of getting an IIM call for Admission 2014.

Only those students who satisfy the following sectional minimum percentile and overall percentile scores in CAT 2013 will be considered for further short listing process at respective IIMs. This is the first step of short listing meant to arrive at a consideration pool. These cut offs are not for those called for interview whose scores would be much higher.

These percentiles are the minimum percentile scores to be called for initial screening or Stage 1 called as short listing to get a large pool of candidates to select from.
