How to proceed
Above are few of the other many options. However, before proceeding further check their respective sites for more information. You may be having some preferred location or a list of institutes in order of preference. Find out whether you can still apply to your preferred B school. Then acquaint yourself with their respective fee structure, programmes offered, number of seats, faculty and placements.

Know the admission criteria
On the top of it admission criteria has to be understood. A few might like to conduct their own additional examination like IRMA (to be held in February 2014). Some of them may conduct GD/PI/WAT, only PI/WAT, group interview, case lets or something else. Since you would like to get into the best one, be prepared to be grilled a little.

How to prepare
Keep the required documents ready for the second admission round. You should begin your preparation for GD PI WAT immediately as you will need sufficient time, proper guidance, will need to follow certain dos and donts to prepare for this round.

What if I opt for CAT 2014?
If you are a working executive with less than 1-2 years of experience or are a fresher, you may go for this option to improve your score. This option should be exercised only when you are confident enough that you will improve tremendously and couldnt do well due to certain dire exigencies.

Forget the race to IIMs
The most important piece of advice is not to run after the IIMs and choose something better. This is the era of global competition and the way Air India is facing a tough competition in the quality from close competitors, IIMs are no exception. Private and global institutes and universities with world class infrastructure, faculty, global placements are on the rise and the aspirants should focus on such good B schools instead of being in the race of getting into not so highly ranked IIMs.
