MAH CET 2014: Non-Maharashtra candidates stand good chance for MMS/MBA in Mumbai, Pune
If you have appeared for nationally recognized tests like CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/ATMA, it is not necessary to appear at MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2014. Your score of All India CET will be valid for the admission provided the score is more than the cut-off.
The admission process for MBA programs offered by Mumbai, Pune and other Universities of Maharashtra, and their affiliated B-schools has undergone a major change this year. Unlike last year, where CMAT scores were used for admissions, this year, Directorate of Technical Education(DTE) Maharashtra, the body that regulates technical education decided to conduct its own Online Maharashtra Common Entrance test (MAH MBA/MMS CET 2014). MH CET will be conducted on March 15 & March 16, 2014. The registration process started on January 27, 2014 is open till February 14. MH CET results will be used by 400 MBA institutions in Mumbai, Pune and rest of Maharashtra for admissions. More than 100,000 students are expected to take the exam.

Is taking Maharashtra CET exam on March 15-16 compulsory?
No, it is not compulsory to appear in MH CET 2014 If you have appeared for nationally recognized tests like CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/ATMA. Your score of All India CET will be valid for the admission.

MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2014 Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
The applicant must have passed with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA ( 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons With Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelors degree (Candidates appearing for final year of qualifying examination are also eligible to appear for CET).
MAH CET 2014: Exam Pattern
MAH?MBA/MMS CET 2014 shall be conducted online at the selected examination centers. There will be 200 multiple choice objective type questions (MCQs).
MH-CET will be of 150 minutes duration test. Maximum marks awarded will be 200 meaning 1 mark per correct answer. There will be multiple sessions from 15th March 2014 to 16th March 2014 in the test. No penalty of negative marking for any wrong answer will be imposed. Candidates will not have any fear of losing marks on this count.
MHCET Syllabus
Syllabus of MH CET is on the pattern of other MBA entrance examinations, although the presentation is slightly different. The test is divided in three parts as follows
Verbal Ability & Reading comprehension
How well you can use the English language is tested in this section. Questions on error corrections are divided in 5 parts and one has to find out the particular part where error exists. In this test there will be passages with questions based on their contents to test your comprehension. Your English Language ability would be tested through questions on grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms, comprehension of passages etc. Your English language ability would be tested through questions on (1) understanding of the contents of the passage and (2) choice of appropriate words, phrases, expressions and similar language skills.
Quantitative Aptitude
How fast and accurate you can work with numbers, do numerical calculations understand various arithmetic problems involving ratio and proportion, percentage, is ascertained in this test. This test also helps to measure your power of quantitative reasoning, interpretation of tables, common graphs and charts.
Logical and Abstract Reasoning
Another important part of the test is to weigh the logical and reasoning skills of a candidate. This test measures how quickly and accurately you can think. This test may have questions based on figures and diagrams and also questions on verbal reasoning.
